Hello everyone,
I am a Newbie in the forums and a Newbie Christian as well. In fact, I have no idea what I am doing! So I am here looking around for answers and direction. I read through some of the articles and many of them seem way over my head. And the end times talk is a little scary.
All I really want to know is how to become a friend of Jesus. I mean a really, really good friend and have a relationship, but it is very hard to have a relationship with someone you don't know and don't know how to talk to. And I look forward to heaven, but I am not sure yet if I am going to get there. I do not want to live through the Tribulation.
So this seems like a good place to start if I can find the kindergarden class!
Anyways, thanks for reading and I hope to learn more while I am here. Thank you!

If you have asked Jesus Christ who is God to come live inside of you and forgive you of all of your sins, then you no longer are an enemy of God, but instead are His friend.
So, the question is have you done this? Have you asked Jesus to forgive you?

:welcomesign to the board PrettyStar.
The world tells us nothing is free. You have to work for everything (or steal what someone else has worked for).
For many it is an impossible concept to recieve a gift out of love from someone.
God specializes in this area.:heh
Ephesians 2:8-9 (King James Version)
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Saved?
What is there to be saved from?
Romans 3:23 (King James Version)
23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23 (King James Version)
23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 14:6 (King James Version)
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
1 John 1:3-10 (King James Version)
3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Our sin has separated us from God. We cannot repair this severed tie between us and the Father.
The wonderfully good news of the Gospel of Salvation is that Jesus repaired it when He payed the penalty, of what should have been our death, on the cross.
Hebrews 1:3 (King James Version)
3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high
Isaiah 53:3-9 (King James Version)
3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Ok, so now how do we know what sin is?
Galatians 5:13-26 (King James Version)
13For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Now to have this awesome gift of knowing Jesus we must accept the gift.
This is done by confessing that we are a sinner to the Lord, and asking Him to place our sins under His blood for forgiveness, come into our heart to live, and show His love through us.
Psalm 32:5 (King James Version)
5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.
Romans 10:9 (King James Version)
9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
1 John 5:11-13 (King James Version)
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
God's love for you is far more than anyone could offer here on earth, and is everlasting. It will remain forever.:hug

Hey there PrettyStar! Welcome aboard! :heythere
Nothing wrong with all the questions you are pondering.
It is taking one step at a time.
Get to know Him throught His Word.
One verse at a time. Ask the Lord to open up the eyes of your understanding to the word and write His Word on your heart.
Mathew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
I use the KJV, the AMP also there is e-sword a free download. Others the ESV and most can tell you which version does not stray from the original scriptures.

:wave Hi PrettyStar! Welcome... and a GREAT BIG congratulations on finding your way to Jesus!!! I got an e-mail a few weeks ago that I think might help you in your walk with Christ. I have been a believer all my life--although I have seriously strayed away from Him several times--but I never really knew how to talk to Him until I got this e-mail. Hope it helps! May God Bless you greatly in your journey to an awesome relationship with Him!!!
DADDY'S EMPTY CHAIR
A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her father. When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows. An empty chair sat beside his bed.
The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit. "I guess you were expecting me, he said.
'No, who are you?" said the father.
The minister told him his name and then remarked, "I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew I was going to show up."
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man. "Would you mind closing the door?"
Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man. "But all of my life I have never known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head."
"I abandoned any attempt at prayer, "the old man continued, " until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me, 'Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus. Here is what I suggest. Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair. It's not spooky because he promised, 'I will be with you always.' Then just speak to him in the same way you're doing with me right now.' So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day. I'm careful though . If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey.
Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon.
"Did he die in peace?" he asked.
"Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him ... But there was something strange about his death. Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed. What do you make of that?"
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, "I wish we could all go like that."
