I want to burn some WMV's to DVD. I want to share some of the messages from the Niagara Falls church with someone who does not have a computer. How do I convert these so that I can do this? Thank you.:hug

Thanks to HOOTMON for the help. I now have NERO 6 ultra and it works fine..:yeah

If you want to be able to make a DVD playable in an ordinary player, you will need to recode the Files to a standard format.

Personally, I use NERO for that. Im not sure what Shareware is available, but Im sure there are many programs that can do it.

I found this link. http://www.sharewareguide.net/article/Guide/wmv-to-dvd-easy-way-to-convert-wmv-to-dvd.html

I cant recommend this program personally, but it does show a tutorial describing the process.

nero is good

i don't know hardly anything about it, but its the one hubby has tried and has yelled about the least, so that usually is a good sign.

This is a great tutorial, however when I follow the steps to the 'Make your own DVD' I don't have the option that says 'convert DVD-VIDEO MOVIES etc'. Since I have NERO 6 Smartstart, I don't understand. Mine just says 'burn DVDs and so when I open that option I am back where I started with it not recognizing the file. I cannot find an option to convert. :rolleyes

Are you sure you are following the steps exactly?

Click on Make Your Own DVD-Video in the Photo and Video section
Click the Add Video Files... button in the Content window.

...and so forth

In my Photo and Video section the options are
1. CApture Video
2. Play Video
3. Record TV show
4. View your photos
5. Edit your photos
6. Burn DVD-Video files

When I click on the last one it will not even find the files. If I try to add them manually it will just say that 'no compatible file found.
I am sorry that 'murphy's law' seems to happen with me quite often. :lol2

There is a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen. Try moving it. You may have more selections that you cant see...

Also, you may need to select DVD at the top of the Screen.

Im not at home now, so am trying to do this from memory. The blind leading the blind, it seems. :heh
