I was amazed to see the gas prices this morning! They went up over .25/gallon in one day! The best my Mom could find on her way to work was $3.44 and I know we are cheaper than a lot of areas in the US. What are you guys finding?

I paid $3.87 for regular on Saturday. That same station had premium for $4.04.

I bet many families won't be taking vacations this year... we will probably be going to the lake less. :(

There's a train about a mile from my house that would take me with in 2.5 miles of work. I'm considering getting into good enough shape to ride my bike to the train, take the train, then ride my bike to work from there. I don't think I could do it everyday, but even 2 days out of the week would cut down on my fuel consumption.

We drove from Kansas City to St. Louis last night and the highest unleaded price we saw along Interstate 70 was $3.39. Now diesel on the other hand, is definitely on the move.... watched a sign change their price from $4.02 to $4.06. Here in Union Missouri (60 miles west of St. Louis) diesel has been anywhere from $3.99 to $4.09.

Yes, we were supposed to go to Florida to meet our family for vacation this year but we're not going now. The gas would kill us. We have to take our SUV to fit the kids and all of our stuff--it averages about 13 mpg in traffic and around 15-16 mpg on the interstate loaded down. Not to mention the extra expense when we get there of higher food costs...
No way am I doing that, we'll just stay home and get out the kiddie pool!
