Two Witnesses would carry guns??

Here is my question.

Revelation 11:5
If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die.

You think they would carry guns?

I think in this verse, it is referring to actual fire. Most of the versus that could mean some type of "modern" term, say "like".

The fire 'consumes/devours' their enemies. There wont be much if anything left of them
