Hi as I have stated before I am disabled and my husband travels.

One of my biggest problems is finding proper food to eat. I need to be able to just nuke it without it changing its flavor and texture too much.

There are some dietary restrictions - but if the recipe can be modified I try and do that.

I just cant find anything to fix for breakfast. Sausage is giving me heartburn, bacon, most of the time I have no energy to cook it or anything else.

I need to stay on the very low side of fiber. I have an ileostomy - fiber is my enemy - however I manage to adapt using some items like onions(finely chopped or onion dehydated, or powder) I use peppers to cook with but usually remove most of them. Lettuce - no way.

Anyway you can see my delinma - Anybody have any suggestions?

Oh - I also take meds for diabetis-so tons of sugar is out......Ack!!!!

I can have canned peaches and pears if they are soft

I've heard of recipes that use baby food in them like some desserts but guys I really have to say thats not really appetizing. LOL!

Well any help suggestions all welcome and if there are none dont worry I dont have any either!! :idunno

can you make soup ahead of time and freeze it in individual portions?

I make meals so that I can put foods in the freezer for MrP.........he can't have very many veggies at all, but unfortunately, his meals are high carb of potato and rice to supplement.

Chilli freezes well.

I broil steaks (beef or lamb) and then put 1 in the rubbermaid containers they have at WalMart for $2 for 4. Baked potatoes freeze better than the boiled.

If you steam the veggies that you can have, they will reheat better.

I am not good with the diabetic diet. Sorry.

If you take a London Broil roast and put it in an open dish on 350 and every 30 min pour a little catalina dressing on it until the meat is done, it has a really nice flavor like a mild bar b que without all of the seasoning most use (onions and such). That should slice up and freeze well.

Is Pizza a no? If it isn't you could make up individual sized crusts and prebake them for about 1/2 of the amount of cooking time and then place the sauce and cheese (meat?) on the crusts and flash freeze before placing in individual freezer bags. you would just place them on the pizza stone frozen and complete the baking time. You could have maybe a carrot salad.

If you are wanting dessert. you can make cupcakes and freeze them individually. If you can make banana bread, that would be great for you to thaw..........bake as cupcakes.

Again with the cupcake theme, you could make individual quiches to reheat for breakfast.

Hope that gives you some ideas.

The only other thing that I can think of would be to google your ileostomy condition and type in support group forums and see if they could be of better help with diet suggestions to freeze.

I have my own health issues and MrP is disabled, so I know some of the hardship that you go through. My prayer is that you find out what you need to take care of yourself! Stay well.
