Can someone please tell me how I block my ex-husband/room mate from looking at "undesireable" sites on my computer?

Or do I need to take my computer somewhere or buy a filter or what?
thanks!!:hat

Lock your computer up, so that they can't use it. :-D

There are some good filters out there! I have heard Net Nanny, Cybersitter and BeSafe are good. I currently use Norton 360 andset up the add-on pack with parental control. you control what is to be seen.

You can do either or. I believe they all have their own websites. Some have consumer ratings regarding their ease of use and performance. For me (I am not the most computer literate) I like being able to contact them in case I have a question or problem.I have virus and spyware protection with it-- If you are like me you might want to see if the product offers this service.

Trying to post this again :)

1) Password Protect Your Computer
2) If You Have Vista, Use A WHITE List Filtering Setup.

The Filters like NetNanny , Cyber Patroll, ect are all easy to bypass if the person really wants to get around them (just google bypassing filtering to see how easy)

Go into your router and set up a firewall.

just unplug the cord to the modem and put in a "dummy plug" that leads nowhere (tuck it under a carpet or another piece of computer stuff) no access=no nasties, he won't have a clue why he can't get online :heh

No, we live together -- one reason is for financial reasons. the other is so we both can parent the kids daily. They are 8 & 7.
