Depends on who makes it :)

The terms are used interchangeably. Generally though people perceive "notebooks" to be smaller than "laptops."

with a 15.4 inch screen I consider my hulking portable computer a laptop. I saw a 17 inch screen one recently and I wish I had the cash to get that beast too.

Get a Mac. It's a much better computer.

Notebooks tend to be smaller with less weight and somewhat smaller screens, and more portable, but just as powerful as a laptop.

Laptops tend to have bigger screen and weigh more. Some people use laptops as a substitute for a desktop system.

Hope this helps.

No difference. Most companies don't call them "LAPTOPS" anymore since they tend to catch on fire and dont recommend putting them on your LAPS anymore..

Get a Mac. It's a much better computer. Actually, the best computer IN THE WHOLE WORLD is the one that accomplishes one's purpose. :)

Having used both for video/audio editing as well as special effects, etc. and also for word processing and internet, they both work. PC's tend to being cheaper though and can be easily self built/troubleshot. Also, apps for PC's are everywhere. Ten years ago ...... or even maybe 6-8, a Mac ruled when it came to multimedia. Now it doesn't matter.

Whether you want to call it a laptop or a notebook, if you're a guy, you sure don't want to have it on your lap! (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4078895.stm) :fear

No it's not.

Pretty much every computer magazine that monitors actual countable statistics, including Consumer's Digest, disagrees with you. They've got the best reliability and close to the best tech support, and have better resale value than any other kind of computer.

Why do you say "no it's not"?
