View Full Version : My Pastor Kicked Someone Out of Church Yesterday...

My pastor finished up Romans yesterday morning (we are a Calvary Chapel, so we go through one book at a time). Anyway, my pastor really hit heavy on the verse about marking those who cause division and preach heresy (I would recommend the message for anyone interested) and he named a few names to warn the congregation. Among people like Oprah, Brian Macclerren, Rob Bell, Doug Pagett, and the like...he mentioned Kenneth Copeland and the "we are all gods" doctrine and how heretical his teaching is and influences on modern day TBN and whatnot.
Anyway, someone came up after the service and told my pastor that he was wrong and that he was "decieved" because Copeland is right, we are gods and we need to do what is necessary to recognize it and live it. He politely told her that she was wrong and that Copeland was a heretic. She got all mad and called him a heretic....so he told her she could leave promptly, that she was not welcome if she was going to argue an essential. She stormed off...
1) I feel blessed to have a pastor who is living his walk and protecting the flock...2) Please pray for this woman...she is deceived and needs to have the Truth. Please just pray for God to reveal it to her.

a pastor's job is to call out error

Wow! A pastor who actually cares about his flock!
One question to ask people who believe they are gods.
Why was satan able to deceive Eve with "you can be as gods" if she was ALREADY a god?
None of them can answer that biblically...

Good for your pastor for calling her on this! Hopefully, she will realize that she is being deceived.

Satan was convinced he could be god too, and look how that turned out.

WoW. Its pretty rare these days I hear someone being excommunicated from a church. This is a biblical practice and command from God. Kudos to your Pastor for not backing down and Standing upon the Word.

Good for your pastor! Nice to hear of one politely but firmly standing for the essentials of our faith, which confirms the high regard he has for it, not willing to allow someone to dilute and cheapen it (as is SO prevalent these days) without confronting it.
Someone needs to get in touch with this lady, and let her know what's playing this week at the local LDS theater. They can fill her in on how the Mormon church can help her not only get in touch with the "god in her," but actually BECOME equivalent with God, by doing all the temple ritual stuff, and living with the Mormon garment, and reaching the highest degrees of glory in the "celestial kingdom." She will be able to be EQUIVALENT to God, namely she will also be a God. Just think, she'll be able to have a blast creating her own universes, planets, heavenly slurpees, eternal pizza. Furthermore, in her case, I guess she'll have many, ummm, uh, manly built husbands, and when having sex with them, someone trapped in the "spirit world" will be able to take on a body in the worlds she creates and populates.
Only problem with that movie down the street at the LDS theater, is the ending, which shows all that cool stuff vanish, followed by some unpleasant redress to those enamored with the same old "I will be like the most high," etc.
