The Case-Shiller report (http://www2.standardandpoors.com/spf/pdf/index/CS_HomePrice_Release_042952.pdf) is out today.
Home prices nationwide fell in excess of 12.5% year over year. 17 of the 20 regions reported record decreases in home values. The worst hit areas were Miami and Las Vegas with declines of 21.7 and 22.8 percent respectively.
This was also also combined with a report that foreclosure rate is up 23% from the last quarter, over double (up 112%) last years rate.
In other related news, the US commercial bank holdings of was reported at 164 Trillion by the Comptroller of Currency. An additional 550 Trillion is held by other institutuions, foreign governments, central banks, etc. Of that amount held by US banks, the total loss is now at 8 Trillion. 5 percent of the outstanding held. Still a long, long, long way to fall.

Yes, early innings on the property "value" front, both commercial and residential...we don't see much discussion on commercial just yet...very early here...

definately. Im just hoping their isn't so much civil unrest that it makes it unsafe to try to get there!!
We live in between Flint and Detroit ( closer to Flint ). It wouldn't take much to create some scarey social
unrest here.

thanks.. :) we appreciate it. I try not to let fear rule my emotions. It's harder when you're preggers!! Fortunately I am well read and have 3 other children all w/ out drugs, so I know we could do it if needed. I'd just prefer not too and Im sure hubby does as well!! LOL
Im also frankly a bit concerned about that fact that he's supposed to spend 2-3 weeks in Chicago in Sept. and if things get bad there, it'd be a long walk home for him! But again, I'll just have to trust the Lord, and trust his (my hubby's) martial arts skills....;)
