I have seen two distinct types of Christian believers. One type enthusiastically teaches their Bible knowledge to others. These people, though they may be genuine in their motive, lack one essential ingredient to being effectively used by God - a testimony. The second type of people I have encountered has a genuine testimony of what God is doing and continues to do in their lives. This was the case in the early Church. Men and women were able to give powerful testimony of events and experiences that could only be explained as a work of God.

God desires to build a testimony in each of us. Each of us is one of God's chosen vessels to reflect His power in and through us. When others see this power reflected, they are impacted because they cannot explain that power. God desires to frame your life with experiences designed to reflect the character and nature of Christ. Sometimes these events can be very devastating, but they are designed to reveal His power in and through us.

Every one of us has a testimony. What would others say your testimony is today? Can others see God's work in your life? Is your testimony one of Bible knowledge only? Are things happening in your life that can only be explained as God? These can be problematic questions for each of us. I believe its time to get back to the basics, so ask God to build a testimony of His life in and through you in the name of Christ Jesus. :pray

When I was a kid, I thought of myself as not really having a testimony. I even kind of fought the whole "born again" thing -- thinking it didn't really apply to me. Two questions: What was I thinking? And: Who did I think I was?

I would love to see your testimony, and hear others here. Let's testify about all the marvelous things He has done for us. :)

I have included a link to my testimony page with the post for every eye to see. We have to let our testimony be known. During the time of the early Church, that is how the knowledge of Christ spread like wild fire. It was with people saying, "Look at me!! Look what Christ has done!"

This is taken from my myspace page:

My life is a pure and unblemished story about healing, and deliverance. The healing of the wounds that came from being a victim of child molestation, and being able to completely forgive that person in my heart. The deliverance of a homosexual lifestyle and my choice to indulge in drugs & alcohol so I could do exactly what I wanted to do without the guilt of my conscience weighing in on my mind. I refuse to keep my secrets as secrets any longer. I tried professional counseling, depression medication, and self-help books. Nothing helped the guilt of my conscience, or healed my wounds. All I know is that my life is the true & pure works of Jesus Christ, because I am a new person with a new heart, and new desires. I make my testimony known to everyone because if I keep my old life that has pasted away a secret, then my testimony of Jesus Christ makes no sense. My life and the 180 degree direction change of my heart is 100% proof that He can do exactly what He says He can do. This has happened in my life as a result of repentance, the one thing that must be done in order to be 'born-again'. I'm not on here to debate, or present brilliant arguments with people that believe not, but to speak the truth that comes directly from my heart, and that, I cannot deny. I know that I tried to heal my own wounds and deliver myself from a lifestyle that I oh so loved. That only left me with a nasty scab that kept getting ripped off, and a lifestyle that I kept going back too. So I give Yahweh, my Lord thy God, the glory for everything that was humanly impossible for me to overcome to be completely healed and delivered, and I dare not to even look back.

^Praise Him for delivering you! Sorrow in your sin: Psalm 51. Greatfulness for cutting off your chains! Psalm 107. Yes, like Lot's wife, don't look back at S & G. (Luke 9)

Of course you have true and false conversion...but this message leans toward the true. The converted person who doesn't have a story, is the one who is afraid to speak about their story. But your right....You can't be a Christian without having a testimony....somehow....someway.

Yes, but remember, you are no match for satan & your flesh. They are both the "enemy" here. You can only live by His grace & strength alone! Don't depend on yourself or your strength. Believe in Jesus, not a bit in yourself, to lead you succesfully home!
