Why does God create people?
I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." -Isa 43:6-7
Why did God elect Israel from all the other people of the world?
Who is like your people, Israel, a unique nation on the earth? Their God went to claim a nation for himself and to make a name for himself! You did great and awesome acts for your land, before your people whom you delivered for yourself from the Egyptian empire and its gods. - 2 Sam 7:23
Why does God forgive His people?
For my name's sake I defer my anger, for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you, that I may not cut you off. - Isa 48:9
And be ye kid one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. - Eph 4:32
I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his name's sake. - 1John 2:12
Why do we pray to God to forgive our sins?
For your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt, for it is great. -Psa 25:11
Why do we do good deads?
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. - Matt 5:16
How are we to live?
Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31
Do you see all these scriptures guys? The reason I put them up is in the hopes that you might begin to allow your central interpretive motif of scripture to be "God's Glory." Start from God and then work your way down to man, and then you'll begin to understand deep and weighty topics like election and salvation, etc. Moreover, you will understand God's love aright (I think I just invented a word?). God, who is infinitly better than everything you hold to be sublime and precious and all satisfying and glorious, has done the most loving thing ever - namely, do everything for his own glory, whereby the ones whom he has made for his own glory may be infinitely happy with what makes them most satisfied - namely, Himself! This is why I wrote as my signature..."Do what you were designed to live for - speaking of God's glory -and die well. Only what is done for Jesus will last. Anything else will amount to a wasted life! Get a correct understand of God and you'll have God designed passion -- a passion that will set you a blaze for His glory - the very thing you were created for!
