We've all been talking about high prices everywhere and ways to save.

Well, I've always used coupons, but the last month I've stepped it up a notch.

I bought on EBAY, several grocery coupons, (EX: any Tyson Chicken, save a $1 coupons, 20 coupons). The same with other items.

Well, my husband and I only go to Wal-Mart once a month for our large trip, and then run a weekly trip for a few items later.

Our food bill is usually $200 to $225.

We came out of there at $178!!!! Yeah!!!!

We did it with coupons, multiples of the meats, and with the other 2 grocery stores sale bills.

We've known they price match but they really don't advertise it around here. Well, this week the other stores had several good sale items, but then higher priced everything else.

So we took the sale bills armed and ready and circled. We had to hold those items until the end of the checkout, but then the lady did indeed re-enter all our price adjustments. Our total bill was supposed to be $206 and change.

At the beginning, she was pleasant, but by the end, I know she was happy to see us go.

So try this guys, a little elbow grease can save you some dollars. Go in arms with tons of coupons and competitor ads, and you will save some $$$$!

Congratulations! That's good incentive. BTW, how much did the coupons cost on ebay? Have never looked them up.

Grocery stores are also offerring $660 for your $600 stimulous payment. Not sure how it works but they reported it on the news this morning when they were talking about stores competing for the money.

Congratulations! That's good incentive. BTW, how much did the coupons cost on ebay? Have never looked them up.

My 20, $1 off chicken breast coupons, (fresh chicken breasts, not frozen), cost $2.50. It was something like $1.99 won, and the rest for postage and handling.

I also got my Fancy Feast canned cat food, and my Tidy Cat litter coupons.

Rayovac batteries was another. $2.48 here for 4 Double A batteries at Wal-Mart, then I had save $1 each. (We go thru them because of our production business).

And there was also Aleve at the time. Again, $1 off. Buy the smallest package with it was the better deal as well. I think we get 20 gelcaps for $3.15 with that coupon. You just have to look at the cost break down per item they have in their pricing stickers. Sometimes smaller sizes are the better deal as you have that coupon to push the price down further.

I am watching anything that has at least $1 off and you get 15-20 coupons. We bought the smallest Tyson Chicken Breast or Breast strip Packages, $4.74 here, -$1, for $3.74.

We've bought several and froze them.

I think we ALL could save more money if we continue to share ideas and links on how to go about it.

We could squeak by and make some real savings, but again it's working and searching at it.

I used to print coupons off the computer but our stores no longer accept them. I think the best I ever did was to get $320 worth of groceries for $160. I used a lot of buy one get one and double coupons plus shoppers' club discounts. I was pretty proud of myself but that was when the stores had better deals.

Good Job! :yeah They really get unhappy with me, not to mention the people behind me. I bring in the ads from other stores and they match the price. Then I use coupons and they have to get someone to come and validate the sale...HEHEHE...it just goes on and on.

I used to do a lot of coupons (I really like the challenge of them), but I found I was spending hours organizing, clipping searching and that's time I could be working and making more than I saved or spending with my family. It also took me longer at the store. Now, I just shop the loss leaders and get the rest at Wal-Mart or Aldi. The loss leaders are those few items that are extraordinary deals. You have to be strong and only buy those when you go in the store though. I also usually buy as many as they allow to stock up a bit and I don't drive all over the world. I make a small circle and if the store is not in that circle, then I don't bother with that sale. I figure that we save around $35.00 a week shopping in this way.

I did the competitors ad one time at Wal-Mart. :lol2 It takes a while to do it, especially if you have alot of items, and the customers behind me were getting irritated. :idunno My only comment to them was, "Hey! I'm saving over $50 bucks here."

Now I hardly ever shop at Wal-Mart, unless I need something on my way home or something. I do most of my shopping at Kroger, and I use coupons. I always save on average $70 - $75 depending on how much I'm getting. The most I've saved was $121.00. I figure my time is worth $50 an hour.

Now Wal-Mart does accept printed coupons. I am signed up online at various company websites and coupon sites as well, and I do get lucky on a few items.

I won't print them unless I really use them. It seems like 7 out of 10 of them are worthless to me.

I also used to worry about people complaining about being behind me in line while they did price overruns to correct the amount, but hey, are they going to give me the difference of my bill? No. I know the only one who is going to take care of me, is me. :)

So they will have to just be content waiting behind me once a month.
