Ironic! Most diets start with
1) Drink water
2) Walking
3) Eat less
Well has it occured to America that because of inflation, and the down-sizing of packaging in our markets, we have all started on a diet! If we can't afford the larger package, then we just lost pounds. If we can't afford to eat out, maybe we're at home, and eating less, because we couldn't afford more! I stayed home today and watched the original Sabrina with H. Bogart. I ate healthy. Some tomato's, avacado, water and a little cheese. I wonder if I can get some kinda green credits?:lol2

Maaaaybeeeee... this food shortage/food price hike, is just a scam to force Americans into shedding the extra pounds. Also a plan to kill off millions in third world countries.:(
But seriously, they've really been putting the pressure on Americans to LOSE WEIGHT. Calling us an obese lazy society. They started years ago with trying to force us into buying fat free foods and working out. Then they down sized portions (thinking I wouldn't notice). It didn't work. So now they're making it harder for us to buy food.
Then they said, "Let's jack up the price of gas so they'll be forced into WALKING and RIDING BIKES to get to their destination." :shocked
Thus, A LEAN AMERICA! :thumb
Sounds kinda Hitlerish, doesn't it? :twitch

I kind of think it is a blessing in disguise. Of course, I just got a new bike today and it is the first time ever I've been able to bike ride with my 8dd and 10dd. We just never had the extra money before for me to buy a bike.
We raced down the trail behind our house and it was so much fun, I felt like a kid again. :)

Might have to look into how to have a window box garden. Don't have much room for a real garden, unless we dig up the front yard.
Times like this I wish I was living on a farm. With cows, chickens, and a big veggie garden.

I'm going to try square foot gardening. It's ideal for small spaces. You don't have to dig anything up, either. The book tells how you can do it in window boxes or patios. Maybe it will work and we'll be eating "greener". We won't be doing any biking, though. We're getting a bit too old and decrepit for that. :preach
