Pope sees revival of interest in Rosary
Rome, May. 5, 2008 (CWNews.com) - The Rosary is "not some pious practice relegated to the past," Pope Benedict XVI (bio - news) remarked on May 3. In fact, he observed, "the Rosary is experience what is almost a new springtime."
The Holy Father led the recitation of the Rosary in the basilica of St. Mary Major on Saturday evening, at the start of the month traditionally dedicated to Marian prayers and pilgrimages. The Pope said that in his mind, "May evenings call up pleasant memories of evening appointments to pay homage to the Virgin Mary." :tsk
Meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, the Pope continued, helps the faithful to "place Christ at the center." The mysteries themselves recall the central events of Christ's salvific mission. And when the prayers are said devoutly, they "contain the healing power of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, invoked with faith and love at the heart of each Hail Mary." :tsk:tsk
The Pope encouraged the faithful to pray along with the Virgin Mary, especially during these days before Pentecost, asking God for "a renewed infusion of the Holy Spirit..

:tsk Truly a cult. Paganism.
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 2 Tim 3:13

They're all so blind and lost. Just as we all once were. "Thank you Jesus for shining Light on the Truth of Thy Word!"

When the Disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, it was a very simple and yet complex and straight to the point prayer. I don't recall Mary's name any where in the entire prayer Jesus gave to us. There also wasn't any repetitious words or vain words
MATT 6:
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Along these lines watch out for the emergent church and their repetitious use of the word Jesus during their prayers in almost a sing song meditation while singing 7-11 songs (seven words sung over and over and over again)

As a former Roman Catholic for over 30 years how I still remember the rosary and May Day, (I think it was May 1st each year) when Mary was celebrated.
I detest the catholic "religion" but truly do feel sorry for the members and those who believe it...many family members here do. It's so true..it honestly is brainwashing. I went to a catholic school for my first 8 years of school and STILL TO THIS DAY remember prayers and the Mass. All we can do is pray they open their eyes before it's too late. I have no doubt there will be Catholics who will be in Heaven....but it may be difficult...for they really are NOT taught the true Good News. Once I was out of the church....I could not believe how much JOY there truly was in God. Before then I was always down-trodden and made to feel guilty and not taught God is to be enjoyed at the same time we worship Him. Very sad state of affairs....and a true trap is the Roman Catholic Church.

Hmmm,
The Rosary:
Meditate on an aspect of Jesus' life, (i.e. His birth, His death, etc.)
then
The Our Father is said
then
The Hail Mary is said (Luke 1:28, Luke 1:42)
then
The Glory Be (proclaiming the Trinity's glory)
Wow, that sounds like total paganism to me!
:lol2
Do you see my hint of sarcasm?
For all the former Catholics on this website, it's truly sad that you didn't grasp the beauty of your faith, the richness of its' traditions, and the presence of Jesus Christ, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity that is present in the Eucharist! I guess the emptiness that you feel, drives your scorn for Christ's Church on earth. What a pity......

I have more of an interest to pray to the Father in the name of Jesus.
