Processor seems a bit dated, but 3gigs of RAM is awesome. If you aren't gaming, that's a perfectly fine system.

For general use (Web / E-Mail / Typing Reports) and Older Games, it will be fine.
It looks like it has the Dual Core AMD Chip that will give you some speed improvement.

I would get rid of the Norton Internet Security and replace it personally with either Avast or AVG as I don't really care for how bloated Norton is.
(In fact I'd just format & do a clean install to remove all the junk that computer manufactures tend to install :D )

If this is a family computer, you'll love the Vista Parental Controls, you can assign a user to each person in the family, and control time / programs / web access ect for each user in an easy interface.

If you're looking at playing more modern games, it will still work, but you'll want to add a new graphics card to it.

The processor is oldish. I'm thinking you could probably get more bang for the buck if you wait for somebody else to have a decent sale.

Get your hands on a valid copy of XP and it'd be a great machine. Without a proper graphics card there's no real advantage to running Vista instead of XP.
