i'm using it to catalog my seed collection this year...

how do i get it to not have more cells than i need?

i have all my info in it and i can't remember for sure how to do it, but don't want to mess up the work i have done.

i also want to make sure i can add more cells later on if needed...

i am always afraid to mess with details and loose the whole thing! :lol2

Are you asking about formating it out for printing? Then you would highlight the area that you want to print and then click on File, Print Area. You would need to redo this if you add more lines. BTW, your spreadsheet looks great! :thumb I might borrow your idea, if you don't mind.

right click on the cel - delete
you can always undo - ctrl-z

hmmm... it didn't seem to change anything....:scratch

i had tried that before and thats when i decided that i didn't remember excel as much as i thought i had...

i really only need A-T and 1-39 but both top and bottom rows are "endless"

i have a line of numbers for use in determining how many peat pellets (PP) i will need to keep on hand, but i can't sum up the row cause i can't find the end of it, and it won't let me puck a cell for the sum to end up in...

i'm also wanting to have it in color, where the lines are tinted- my eyes cross lines without this.

it must be possible, but i can't figure the thing out.:doh

college... i only remember enough to know how much i forgot....

i aced that computer class too... but that was in the early 90's

A couple of ideas (if I understand you question) if you view your page layout you can move the solid blue line to end at bottom of document...you can change this at anytime! (In case you want to add more cells) :)

As far as I know, you cannot delete *blank* columns/rows - you can, however, *hide* them.

To hide columns (or rows):
1. Highlight the columns (rows) you wish to hide.
2. Click on Format in the toolbar.
3. Click on Column (Row) in the drop-down menu.
4. Click on the Hide in the drop-down menu.

You should be left looking at only the columns (rows) that you did not hide.

I hope that made sense.

you should be able to right click on the tab and delete :idunno

the colors end at the unused cells, i was scrolling to get to all the way to the right, but i'd fly all the way to line AJ before i could see to stop scrolling... but now i can tell. ans now that i could tell where it ended all the way to the left i could get the sum in the correct field. Glad i ordered 200 peat pellets!

now that i get it, i'm going to put the seed pack prices in as well.

Thanks again everyone :hug
