Hi there!

I am currently looking into curriculum for my son who is going into high school. Our pastor homeschooled his three girls, and he told my DH about Accelerated Christian Education. DH wanted me to check it out.

I'm not too sure about this. It looks like a workbook based program. Is this correct?

What is this program like? Does anyone out there use it and like it? What do you like about it?

I have tried to stay away from the workbook approach for the past several years, because my children got absolutely SICK of workbooks.

So, I'm not too sure I want to go back to it????

I would love to have your imput.

Thanks! :thumbup

Nobody uses ACE???

Not sure what to do?

My husband is absolutely sold on this, and I am not thinking that I want to use this? He thinks it is the way to go???

I'll ask on some homeschool MBs. They might be able to help me out.

you know, if you call and ask for samples they will send you some. Just tell them the grade and subject... That is how my son fell in love with them

Hey KIng Daughter,

I'm an ACE Grad. I went through the program for K-12 grade, (as a home schooler from 3-12) I loved the program, I had friends in Public and Private Schools of who had to set through lectures and have material "taught" to them. Ace is great because you have 12 little packs(12 is the amount you are supposed to each year in each subject) and you are able to work at your pace. The material also allows for you to progress in a subject, for example your in 7th grade but your really good at Math, ACE would allow for that student to move on in Math but still remain in 7th grade in the other subjects -- I know this because I've been here, IN 8th grade I was starting High school work in nearly all my subjects, Also this material makes sure you know what you've learned by not allowing you to progress till a 90% is made on the Self-test(a mini test at the end of each workbook) and an 80% or higher is made on the actual test. I'm not sure how much of this stuff you already knew, if you have an more questions I'd be happy to try and answer them, you can PM me or continue on this thread.

Oh thank you! This is what I needed! A confirmation! :yay I am going to use ACE with my son through high school. I just wish that I had heard of it sooner! I could have used it all the way through.

He will get used to the workbook format. He'll have to, because I am not able to keep up with him in all subject areas any longer and he needs more independent study.

Thanks Berean Girl! :bighug This helps me out a lot.:yay
