PICHER, Okla. - They could pass for mourners at a funeral.

They line up along the main drag in front of empty cafes and shops and rusted mining equipment fenced off with barbed wire. Passing time, some from this blue-jean crowd press hands and foreheads against windows of stores. Businesses that died so many years ago it's hard to remember what they sold.

Two fellows with graybeards stand near a telephone pole. They watch for any sign of action in front of Susie's Thrift and Gift.

Picher, OK was hit this evening by a killer tornado very close to the same time you were posting this run2Jesus!!! At least 6 people killed. (5 are listed in this article, later on tv I heard 6). Here is the link. ttp://www.ktul.com/news/stories/0508/518665.html Did you know about the tornado? Maybe God had that community on your mind for prayer. 20 blocks of this town were wiped out. Probably the end of that community. I am praying for the residents of Picher, OK

Death toll in Picher as of about 11:00 pm CT was up to 9.

:shocked No!!, Cynthiann, I had no knowledge of the tornado until this morning when I first read about it. I am deeply moved by all the tragedy and devastation there. :ohno I will certainly keep praying for them and all those affected by this awful storm system.:pray:pray

Lot's of tornadoes lately, and in some strange places.
