M5.0, 4.1 quakes rock Hokkaido, Miyazaki early Sunday+

TOKYO, May 11 (AP) - (Kyodo)—An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 jolted Nemuro and vicinity on Japan's northeastern Hokkaido island and another tremor with a magnitude of 4.1 hit areas of Miyazaki Prefecture on the southwestern island of Kyushu early Sunday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the 3:24 a.m. quake in Hokkaido or the 4:19 a.m. jolt in Miyazaki. No tsunami warnings were issued.
The quake in Hokkaido measured 4 in the city of Nemuro and the town of Betsukai on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7. The focus of the quake was around 80 kilometers below the seabed in an area near Kunashiri Island.
The jolt in Kyushu was measured 4 on the Japanese scale in the city of Kobayashi, Miyazaki Prefecture. Its focus was about 10 km underground
