Status

My computer is constantly trying to install 'status' and asks me to insert the 'status' disk and click ok. Problem is, I don't know what a 'status' disc is and I can't install any updates for any of my programs because my installer is constantly busy. Any ideas?

Try manually running Microsoft Update, (not Windows Update) the MS Update has newer featureset that will also upgrade your othe MS products in a slipstream/silent fashion so it requires less effort.

You likely have an update that is hanging because it is outdated, and the new MS update code should fix that problem.
