I would like to hear from people who were saved and how they approached very good friends with the word of god. My best friend is not saved and has some strong ideas about religion. He knows I have been saved and even had some questions for me when I was baptized. I have been studying the bible and the next time he comes and visits me I'm going to have a talk with him. I'm also going to give him the same bible I have (new believers bible) which has helped me in understand the faith. I don't know when I will see him next (he lives out of state) but we see each other at least 2 times a year or more.
I have a lot to over come because he is extremely stubbarned and hard headed:aha and I know all his ideas about religion are based on ignorance and not of hatred. I just hope I can reach him because I would love nothing more then to be raptured and know when was going with us.

Once the subject of religion is brought up then I say, "Ok if you died tonight and God said, "(insert name) why should I let you into my heaven?" What would you say? Depending on the answer, then I take it from there. Unsaved friends will usually answer something about good works and then that opens the door for the true gospel. I use this method even with professing Christians just to make sure they are not a false convert. Hope this is helpful.

Just say something on the lines of : 'hey bro, can I really ask you a personal question?" And then say, "in your ideas, what do you think happens to you after you die?"
if he says go to heaven then go through the 10 commandments maybe throw in the court example. (wayofthemaster.com)
if he says nothing will happen then give him a few messianic prophecies to show the Bible is God inspired like Isa 53 or Daniel 9:26 (saying Messiah had to come before 2nd temples destruction)
for how to speak to an atheist i have a couple little tid bits here

Hope this helps, oh and pray is most important!!
ps. also we know the Old Testament hasnt really changed because of the dead sea scrolls which outdate the church age and date about 2nd century bc. and then for the new testament we have http://www.carm.org/questions/textualevidence.htm

Thanks everyone for your help. I can't wait to talk to him. My wife and I have brought up religion before and he got uneasy and all we were asking him was what he believed in. I feel that he is torminated in the inside because he knows that he does not have god. I hope I can just plant a seed and let him find his own pass. That is how I found god and he is a lot like me.

I would start just by asking him casually what he believed happened when we die. And the just ask if there is a heaven or hell and if he thinks he willgo to heaven if it exists... And kind of just go from there. It's worked for me, atleast. :)

Usually I just start talking about the Creation and evidence. That usually gets some powerful conversations started. I'll talk about the evidence for the global flood and things like that. It REALLY gets people thinking.
