View Full Version : Rapture Ready keeps kicking me out.

Every time I come here, I have to log in anew, even though I click on "Remember Me" to ensure I don't have to do that. Not only that, I can't post anything through "Quick Reply"--I always have to go to "Go Advanced" to post anything, or I'll get kicked out and have to log back in. A lot of times, if I want to edit a post, I have to log in anew before I can do so. Likewise, I can't put anybody on my buddy list or my ignore list--I'm not recognized as a member by the forum, so it forbids me to.
I know it's not my computer, because I belong to a number of other forums, and I don't have this problem with any of them. I'm convinced there's a glitch in the Rapture Ready Bulletin Board, somewhere. Todd, can you fix it, do you think?
Yours truly,
Kathy G.

Has this been going on since the new board came up, or did it recently start?

It's been happening ever since the new forum was created and made available for use.
(BTW, the same thing happened again just now, when I clicked on "post quick reply." Now I've got to click on "Go Advanced" and then log back in before I can post this response.
I had to do the same thing again, just to edit it.)

Ok, did you delete your old RR cookies and then log back in and ask it to remember you? You don't have to empty out all your cookies (I refused to :heh) but you can go in that folder and find any that have RR in the name and delete it.

I don't know how. Except to pull up "Internet Options" and do it through that, but that would delete every cookie I've got on this computer, and I really don't want to do that just now. Is there another way?
As I've said, I have this problem with no other forum. Just this one! :doh:ohno

You can do it by going to your cookie folder.
Your setup might be a bit different than mine, but it should be basically this:
Go to My Computer, then your C drive. Click on Documents and Settings. There should be a file there with your name, depending on what you did when you set up your computer (mine still says Compaq User :heh). Click on that and find the folder labeled Cookies.
Open up that folder. They should be listed by *whatever name the folder has on it* @wherever.com. For example, mine is listed as compaq user @ walmart.com. They should be alphabetized by the @'whatever' label. So watch the label behind the @, and find the one(s) that say @rr-bb.com . Delete that one, then come back onto the internet and come to RR. Hopefully when you sign back in and say remember me, it will.

[sigh] I did as you suggested, but I can find nothing of the kind. I have a Gateway, which I purchased last fall when I was working, and I have Windows XP (and, for my Internet access, Bell South FastAccess DSL--which has been taken over by AT&T). I pulled up "Documents and Settings" under "My Computers," but all I can find listed as folders are "Administrator," "All Users," "Default User," "Owner," "Owner.YOUR-DC3E0B8F38," and "OWNER~1~YOU." I've clicked on each one, but only "Administrator" and "Default User" each have a "Cookies" folder. Neither one has any cookies referring in any way to Rapture Ready--only to Bell South, doubleclick, Gateway, Google, home.bellsouth.net, plus something called "index.dat" (in the Administrator folder). In the default user folder, all I have is "index.dat."
So--what now? Simply endure the hassles the board is giving me, or clear out every cookie on my computer and put all passwords back in all over again? Or is there a 3rd option?

BTW--don't know if this piece of info will help or not--I have Internet Explorer as my browser, and the form of MSN Explorer that's known as MSN 9 Dial-Up as my ISP. I use MSN 9, primarily.
