Email was working fine yesterday. Today, I can receive but not send. I was trying to send negative Obama headline stuff but I kept getting this error message:

“An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Hey', Account: 'mail.hughes.net', Server: 'smtp.hughes.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 Sorry, this message is rejected here. ( 403477722 )', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F

At first I thought Microsoft was backing Obama and they were monitoring negative emails going out on him, and had therefore stopped my email:lol2.

I’m on satellite because we’re out in the country and no cable provider wants to run thousands of miles of cable to connect all of us. So I called my satellite provider. After an hour on the line, it was determined all was working well. They suggested I call Microsoft.

An hour and a half later with Microsoft, he guessed my contacts files was somehow corrupted. He made a copy of my contacts list and put it on my desktop. I then deleted all my contacts, and started to re-enter them in. After I got a few in, I decided to send an email to those I had entered. I got the same error message.

Sooo, I deleted the newly entered contacts. I then decided to just type in a friend’s email address ON the email (rather than put them in my contacts list). The email went off without a hitch.

I’m guessing that, yes, my contacts folder is corrupted. So, how can I clean it because it is a pain if I have to type everyone’s address in every time I want to send an email? Can it even be cleaned??

I have Windows XP home edition and I use Outlook as my email sender/receiver.

Any information if this can be done would be most appreciated.
