it's our first grandchild - a girl - Elise JayLeigh. Please pray for her and my daughter Jentry, and her fiance, Eric. Her due date was originally May 28th, but she's expressed such a desire to her Dr. to give birth naturally (which I guess is rare these days :ohno), she has a "small" pelvis, the baby is of a good size and especially LONG and has been low and head down for the past four weeks, so the Dr. picked the 20th to induce labor. I sooooo hope this is the right decision.

I have a HUGE pelvis apparently :hehee as I gave natural birth to both my daughter and then three years later to my son, so I sort of see this as "playing with nature." :idunno Can't help but worry a little.

My daughter wants no epideral (sp?) and no drugs, if possible. I commend her for that ..... but ???? Will her natural bodily functions take over after being induced? I haven't even looked up the stats. Guess I don't really wanna know.

She's "scheduled" for inducement at 10pm on the 20th, and they live in Las Vegas. Her father and I live in SoCal, so we're driving the 4 hour journey tomorrow. I'll be out there for approx. two weeks. Will send pictures when I can.

Please pray for all of us! :) I know I don't post alot on RR - especially in this Women's discussions area, but I work M-F 8-5, lurk alot from work but can't post from work, only from home at night and free time during weekends, which seems like an oxi-moron - "free time" during weekends!!!! :heh

Thanks in advance for all of your support Sisters-In-Christ!

I myself was induced twice out of three times (must have been a boy thing for me). Both times everything went well. I pray it will go well for your daughter too.

I was induced and nothing happened the way it should've. Ended up with a c-section. It is playing with nature, but the doctor "knows best" apparently. Praying for her to go into labor on her own.

I had four children. Two were induced and all went well. One didn't cooperate. I would recommend that you encourage your daughter to take the drugs when she cannot tolerate the pain. There is nothing wrong with medical help. Good luck, God bless, and congratulations. Our daughter gave birth to our first grandchild, a girl, seven months ago. Our little one already has had two open heart surgeries for a severe heart defect. Praise God, she is one tough little cookie. Unless you were aware of her condition you would never know. Medicine is such a blessing these days. Trust God and the doctors.

I was induced and my cervix wouldn't open up. So after over 12 hrs. of labor, when my daughter's heart rate started to fall with each contraction, they finally took her c section. I told the dr. that next time if there was any reason to take the baby early - just go ahead and operate. It was like going thru 2 birth processes! It left me exhausted. I pray it all goes so much better for you!
BTW - my daughter was very healthy anyway and everything turned out fine.
Also - there was a woman in the hosp. at the same time who refused all meds. and she ended up so damaged inside because of it that she was told she could never have more children. Sometimes medical intervention is a good thing and I get angry when people try to convince women that any meds interfere with the bonding process. That's pure bologne! My daughter and I have always been very bonded!
