Larry Bates and the collapse of the US economy

I was just listening to the radio, and someone came on named Larry Bates. He was saying that we should invest in gold,and there is a new world currency on the drawing board called the "terra." He just painted a terribly bleak picture. But he was offfering ways to "protect ourselves" for the coming economic upheaval. I don't know about you, but I don't have the money to go around buying up gold. All I can do is make ends meet. When the world gets overtaken by the new world order (or whatever you want to call it) what makes him think that we will be granted ACCCESS to whatever savings we have or gold we may've stored up? I don't know. The whole thing made me feel uneasy, and like "I'm not doing enough" to protect myself from the times to come. Has anyone ever heard of this man? And what else SHOULD I be doing right now other than trusting the Savior Jesus Christ for my future? I don't feel like this is my home anyway. Even if I were able, why store up riches here? :shocked

Just heard part of the same radio show. With the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised to see what he called the terra becoming a would currency. If it comes to that pack your bags for Heaven. Well no need to pack really we will not need a thing when we go there the Lord Jesus will provide everything we need. I can't wait to see Him. Come quickly Lord Jesus, Amen.

The things Larry Bates speaks of may or may not happen. A new economic order is likely on the horizen, it may or may not resemble what Larry is promoting. We do what we can to be good stewards of our finances to support our family and friends. That does not mean that everyone will be able to prepare exactly the same and it does not mean that everyone will prepare or should prepare. There are steps that everyone can take regardless of circumstances. I would recommend starting with prayer. It is better to seek what God want's us to do and what his plan may be for each of us individually imho. I don't see how anyone is going to get through this without prayer. I would not recommend the "storing up riches" mentality but maybe the "be wise with what you have and use" mentality.

Aliens/demons refer to Earth as Terra/Earth. Also interesting that the world currency would be the economic foundation of the AC. This is the first I have heard of this currency and based on the name itself and what I believe the strong delusion will be, it all fits. It would not surprise me if this does come to light. I thought "terra" was Latin for earth. You know, terra firma? I didn't know demons use the term. Thank you for the link. There is another thread on this page and they are talking so far over my head. They have all sorts of links and talk in terms of "percentage points" I can't understand it. I'm the furthest thing from a "stock watcher" than anyone I know. (basic math gives me fits) I'm just going to have to do the best I can, pay my bills, and save what I can. But if the banks fold? What? Put the money under the matress? I still think the "powers' will not let us use it anyway. I hope Jesus does not consider me a "foolish" servant or "lazy" I can only work within the framework of the number of cerebral cells He gave me. Not saying He didn't give me enough, and I want more, I'm just saying I can't keep up with the "thinkers" on this issue, and it worries me sometimes. I just hope I'm doing ALL I SHOULD be doing.:panic

Yes, there are latin roots as well for terra. I just found the choice of the name very curious.

Money under the mattress is not likely the best idea at the moment. Idle money is wasting away in a sea of inflation right now. Any response to our current economic crisis should be a response to that statement imho.

God gave us each certain talents and skills. This is why I would recommend starting with prayer. I would not recommend worrying so much. Jesus said there is enough to worry about today, instead of worring about tomorrow.

I think by reading this board, you are more prepared than 99% out there. The key is to understand that there can be some very big changes that happen in a short time once the ball gets rolling. If it gets to the point where these things happen and the higher ups have alterior motives, it will be much like the Titanic. Think of Jesus as your lifeboat. You may have to wade through some ice cold waters until he comes to pluck us all from the ocean, but by learning right now that there is an iceberg on the horizion that we may or may not hit, we will all not be shocked and panic as the ship starts to go down.

The easiest thing to do is pick up a few pounds of pasta or cans of tuna when they are on sale and lose them in the back of a cupboard somewhere. If you can do this every other week or so, if some real problems hit and the trucking supply lines shut down, you have a nice little stash to get by the initial panic.
