Hi everyone,

I'm going to be getting married June 28th this year, and I needed some type of birth control to start now. I looked up different types, the IUD's, patches, the pill, and I decided on Yaz. I got my first pack a few days ago, and I was planning on starting it on sunday..but I am a little nervous, because I starting doing research on it, and read some bad side effects, although I know they are usually rare to have, I read on some review boards about others who have taken it and have gotten these side effects, like blood clots, panic attacks, loss of hair, numbness of body parts. Im mostly worried about the blood clot issue..because I read your more at risk on, say, a long plane ride or after surgery being on bedrest.. and I will be going on a plane because my wedding is in another state and honeymoon as well :twitch not very long plane rides, but i was planning on getting up to use the bathroom every half hour or so to have some movement during the flight :panic:lol2 So I was just wondering If any of you all are on it, or what you all are on, and how its been for you ladies? :)

I probably will do an IUD instead though. It seems to be the most safe method of them all

I also hope its ok to just discuss this on here..not asking for any medical advice, just wanting to see what other people use and their experiences thats all :)

hmmmm this topic may not last long unlocked as many feel the options you mentioned can cause an abortion and therefore are against Gods will.

Just curious, but have you and your future husband read in the bible about how God feels about this topic and have you taken it to the Lord in prayer?

Hi :wave

May I offer an alternative? Try charting. I have heard some very positive things about it. ....AND there are no side effects, except of course, the usual womanly visits.

Here try this website: http://www.ovusoft.com/ Its easier than it looks. I was going to start charting after I quit breastfeeding, but I got pregnant before then, so no need to right now.

I hope you consider it. Its much healthier and safer for you. :hug

HeIsComing7,
Hey, I tried Ovcon and Yaz...both of them were horrible for me. They really messed with my hormones and the Yaz made me nauseas and I was vomiting with it. I stopped using BC because of it. Just be careful with it...of course it may not affect you at all to take them.
I'd look into other forms of BC just to be on the safe side.
Hope this helps:)

I took BC for many years and had no ill side effects to it. I took Orthotricyclin.

we also just chart my cycles and we went almost 3 years w/out a pregnancy. We are pregnant now, but it was definately something that was God's will to have happened! :)

FYI-- an IUD aborts babies... an egg may be fertilized before it implants.. the IUD prevents implantation so this baby will not survive.

Too much medical info on here.

Best to consult your doctor. Thank you. :hug
