You guys have inspired me to share my chili recipe. :)

Serves 4-6 sevings

1 lb. ground beef
1 large onion roughly chopped
1 tablespoon Hershey's unsweetend cocoa powder (don't laugh) I'll tell you about it later. :)
1 tablespoon Chili Powder ( I like Gebhardt)
1/4 teaspoon Ancho or Chipolte chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
A few shakes of Cholula hot sauce
1 14 oz. can of diced tomatos
I tablespoon chopped/minced garlic
1 small can of Rotel tomatos with green chilies, cilantro and lime flavor
1 lg. can ( about 27 oz.) of Pinto Beans, undrained use the bean juice in the can. I also like Bush brand Pintos the best.

In a small bowl mix the salt, unsweetend cocoa powder, and all of the dry spices together. Set aside.

Brown the onion and ground beef. Drain and return to the pan.

With the burner heat on Medium add the garlic and cook with the drained meat and onions for about a minute. Add the dry spices and mix well in the pan, then add the diced tomatoes, a few shakes of Cholula hot sauce and the rotel tomatoes. Stir to mix well. Cover, turn the heat down to low and simmer for about 1 hour. (You can use tobasco but the Cholula is far better in this recipe.)

After one hour or so, add the canned beans and simmer uncovered for about 30 more minutes. Serve with cornbread, Eat and enjoy! :thumb

Now, I'll tell you about the unsweetened cocoa powder. You really don't taste any chocolate but the cocoa gives the chili a really nice brown color and adds a real nice depth of flavor that many chilis lack. It makes the all the flavors meld together and is very complimentary without being overpowering and does not take out any of the spiciness.

This is sooooo good! :yeah
