my DH just filled up all our gas tanks for our tractors. It's hay cutting time! Makes me want to cry in more way than one.

My DH has his own bread route. OWN truck. Gas is killing his business.

High grain prices to feed the mule or high gas prices to feed the tractor...

I bet they are. We are such fools, depending on others instead of being self sufficient.
If they would put a tie out here at work, I'd ride a horse. Make my day!

Like my son would say, 'back in the olden days'. Looks like we're there again with horse/mule drawn tractors. It's great that the farmers will be saving on fuel costs but at the same time I am sure it would take longer to complete the same job. Efficiency may be down, but I suppose at least he's green. I am sure we'll start to see more of this with other farmers. Interesting times !

I could just see us today out plowing, and planting and harvesting with mules. It would take us all summer just to get a crop in, then all winter to get it out . The only good thing about it would be free manure.
