Noah's Ark's Dimensions
Genesis 6:13-15
"13 And God said to Noah, "I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.14 Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch.15 This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits."

Verse 13 is pointing to the end of the end of all things in this world displeasing to God. We are living in the final moments of a great project about to conclude with the Rapture of the Church. Soon after will end all of the vain and futile human reasonings, self will, philosophies, and displeasing projects - all which have no eternal value. All these things will one day be done away with. All these things have no place in God's work. So what is God's work, and what can we learn about this from these verses?

Verse 14 - God's solution was signified in what He would have Noah construct. God told Noah to build an ark - a symbol of the great Work He is doing today. This ark contains many precious lessons, all pointing to Salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Only in this project can be found true joy, peace and life - none of which the world can give. In this example, the water is a symbol of the world. The Apostle Peter almost sank down into the world, when he had foolishly stepped out of the boat due to a lack of faith. In fact he never should have left the boat. On the boat was where the Lord wanted them to be. So too with Noah and his family. Only there could they be united and safe from the world and it's corruptions.

This ark was made of gopher wood. The wood in the bible is often a symbol of man. For example, when Jesus had healed a blind man, the man at first saw "men as trees". In this construction, this wood was one that could easily be fashioned according to God's design. So too the Lord desires a people obedient and submissive to His will. These boards of wood were then placed together to form the ark. It's similar to another example given in the bible of how the Church is made up of living stones or how the bread would be united as one loaf, etc. All this speaks of the fellowship that Jesus Christ wants His people to have. Not an ecumenical, social or political unity, but rather one found only through His Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is symbolized here in form of pitch, which reminds one of oil. So too our lamps must be filled with the oil of the Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that unites the Body of Christ together, so that none of the world can leak in to sink this great work He is doing in these last days. Human influence has sunk many Churches, which morphed into human religions. There have been many revivals, but none of them lasted very long.

Only the Holy Spirit leading at all times can ensure a lasting revival. Only the Holy Spirit knows what lays ahead, and can direct the Church to make the correct decisions. Only the Holy Spirit can keep things together. Only the Holy Spirit can bring true unity. Do you have a problem with someone in your Church? Are they impossible to get along with? What's the solution? The Blood of Jesus - that is The Holy Spirit, which unites and brings all the members of the BODY of Christ together as one. As mere wood, even fashioned by the Lord, we still need this, no matter how tight together the boards of wood seem. This pitch reminds one also of the need for seeking the Lord: through his Word, through fasting, early dawn prayer, etc. All of these help to unite the Body.

The rooms on the ark are details that cannot be discerned from the outside. one must be in the ark to see these. Those who look at the work the Lord is doing in these last days from outside of God's will will not see this. However those who have intimacy with the Lord know's (and continues to learn more) of these great things each day (His teachings, how He governs the Church by the Spirit, the 9 gifts, the 5 ministries, etc). All these details are disregarded by the world.

In verse 15 we read about the dimensions of the ark - The length being 300 cubits (e.g. - a multiple of 3). Three is a very special number in the bible. It reminds one of the Trinity: The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. It speaks of how God's redeeming work has been accomplished in three periods of His ministration: 1) In the OT where we read primarily about God the Father; 2) In the NT gospels with Jesus Christ His Son; 3) and finally to this very day by His Holy Spirit who is preparing and uniting the Body and Bride of Christ for the rapture.

As for the width of 50 cubits: This is a multiple of 5. Five speaks of the 5-fold ministries (Ephesians 4) - how God governs the Church through pastors raised with a specific function. Degrees, certificates, human merit, plays no part in this. These men must be raised by the Lord, just as He's always raised apostles (like Paul, Peter, etc). None of which had a doctorate in divinity.

Finally it's of height 30 cubits reminds one of the age when Jesus began His ministry - at the age of 30. Of course it's also a multiple of 3, which reminds one of the resurrection from the grave. But again, it speaks of the growth of the church in successive levels. Her maturity. This Church must always be balanced by God's grace, and grounded in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. This Faithful Bride of Christ must be at the perfect stature, always ready to be used. Used to evangelize to the lost world. To come on board, because the rapture is drawing near.
