Hi guys!

Have a question for you. We are hosting a paintball game at camp (a camp that many Baptist churches in the area sponsor). We want to do a quick devotional at the lunch break. I googled to see if I could find a paintball devotional, no luck, although there are a few Christian paintball clubs.

The first thing I thought of was opening like this - Has everyone hit their intended target on every shot they took today? and talking about how we have all fallen short of the glory of God. That seemed to lend itself to a "Way of the Master" style presentation where you could present the law then the gospel.

Anyone have any other ideas or heard a good presentation on a paintball field?

Thanks!

Antithesis thought: You ever notice how when we think we're having fun, you get hit?
Sometimes when we do the wrong things, God sends deterrants to wake us up....

Team work: Did you notice the groups working together taking advantage of individual skills did better (you might have done better if...)

Sin leaves a mark, so do paintballs.

When we study the adversary, and train ourselves with discipline and wisdom we do well....

Couple thoughts for you.

Sin is missing the mark, God's mark. The target analogy I think will work great.

Thanks guys.

I like the paintballs leave a mark and so does sin, I bet we can work that in with the "missing your target" idea.

This started out as a birthday party for our sons, but it keeps growing. We have a friend that wants to bring someone who is not saved, just so the unsaved friend could be around some Christian teens. That's when I offered to have a Gospel presentation at the lunch break, because I know not all the kids that will be there have heard the Gospel.

My oldest son overheard us planning, rolled his eyes and said, "Do you have to turn everything into an outreach? We can't do anything without you sharing the Gospel." Despite him rolling his eyes, I took that as a compliment!

Bible Verse Time!

Colossians 3:17 NKJV
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Wally, great verse! That's going on our 'fridge today!

I tried to walked him through some logic-

"So Joe, do you believe hell is a real place?"

"Yeah"

"Do you remember the story of Lazarus and the rich man?"

"Yeah." Then I asked him for a synopsis of the story, which he retold accurately. I asked him specifically about what the rich man wished he could do from hell (warn his brothers).

"Do teenagers ever die?"

"Yeah"

"Do you think you would have any regrets if you didn't share the Gospel with your friends and they were to die suddenly?"

"Well, now that you put it that way, it sounds like a good idea."

I don't know if he was embarrassed about sharing the Gospel with his friends (I hope not) or he was just surprised when I started planning the lunch break Gospel presentation without talking to him about it first.

Sometimes we suffer for the Gospel.

Maybe you want to ask him how he feels- outcast, ostracized?

Then list the Bible verses that pertain to struggle, persecution.

I want to have friends...that drag you away from God's love?

I don't like ridicule -neither do I, and they mocked and crucified Jesus.

It's difficult. I know I have the same challenges
but we can be polite, and don't have to fear jail or death like others in Christ.

But real friends - real love - disregards itself for the benefit of others. Can you see the benefit the others are gainig by a little discomfort you may have?

It's best to let teens come to their own conclusions. But they need a guide now and then. :thumb

I've never played paintball yet. It looks fun.
