I've been looking for a oatmeal raisin cookie recipe that can compete with our favorite- the Starbucks giant oatmeal raisin cookie. They are expensive, but WOW are they good.
Soft, chewy and thick...
I've tried a few recipes that I've found online, but mostly they end up crumbly and hard.
anyone have a good recipe?

I haven't tried the recipe below yet, but this was an answer from a similar question to Yahoo Answers. Another thing that causes cookies to be hard or crumbly is over mixing the dough. Once the sugars and flour are integrated, only mix the dough until blended and no more. :)

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8-9 minutes for chewy; 10-11 minutes for crunchy cookies.
Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet. Remove to wire rack.
Store tightly covered.

FoundAgain, I'm glad that you found a good oatmeal cookie recipe. I was going to say that it's the brown sugar in the recipe as opposed to granulated sugar in the recipe that makes the cookies chewy.
And Creeper, if you didn't forget the baking soda, you might want to check the "expiration date" on it.
