AVG 8. Free version??

Does anyone use this?? I have used AVG for years. Apparently this last download has caused a minor problem in Outlook. I get several emails daily and none of them has changed except 3 of them have changed from HTML to Text. I went into Outlook tools to see if I could change 'incoming' mail to HTML however the only thing I could find was to set HTML for 'outgoing' mail. I know it has to be something that AVG changed because of the coincidence of timing. Does anyone have a clue as to what I am talking about. :hehee

Actually the problem is not enough to do that. It is just an anomoly in these particular emails. I can probably do without them for sure. It is a minor but irritating thing and I just hate it when something isn't exactly right. :rolleyes

I haven't had any other problems at all. Just the email thing and I am going to mess around with it a little and see what I come up with. :nuke

Try using Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/).

My computer has been super slow lately, too, even more than usual 'dial up' kind of slow. How does one go about disabling the link scanner w/o disabling anything else?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software
After installing, the software configures your system, you should see a tickbox that allows the software to sync with Office during the configuration process.

I disabled Link Scanner in AVG 8 and it made my PC faster.

I'm having a problem w/AVG 8 free. At least 1x a week, either the email scanner or the virus detection will bug out/disable. I have to reinstall to fix it. Is anyone else having this problem? I have never had issues w/AVG before and have used it for several yrs.
