I'm not very well read on a lot of political and end times scenarios. I've been seeing a lot on this board about NAU and NWO. I was just wondering, whether you believe it's happening or not, is there something very horrible about either one of these unions? I mean, other than the fact that it's not what most Americans want- or what the country was founded for, would it really be so terrible?

I say this because while we are set in our thinking as Americans that we have such a great country and rights and freedom, etc. I look at it like this: The US hasn't been around all that long. It's not indestructable. Our forefathers broke away from a place they were unhappy with, established a constitution, and things have been growing and changing and downward spiraling since then. I mean, there has never been a really consistent time in history where things just stayed the same. There have been discoveries, inventions, wars and fights for rights. We've been evolving since the beginning so I guess I see UNA / NWO as just a new step in history.

Anyway, not saying that I think it's a good thing, I guess it just doesn't upset me so much because A: Looking back I can see how nothing permanent was ever established in the first place, and we all knew that something like this was coming eventually, right? And B: I won't be here that much longer anyway. So again, my question is, other than the fact that it will change America as we know it, is there something horribly disturbing / evil re: UNA/ NWO? :hide

It's like a church. It take's a while to get used to, and you don't want to see it change.. just as you're getting used to it. With that said, If we could get rid of a few people we wouldn't have to wait to get on the Matterhorn! :lol2

Well, the result of the NAU is that it would take away our sovereignty. The UN would like to do that anyway, but think about it. If we become part of the NAU, we come under the jurisdiction of all countries involved. What would happen to our Supreme Court (such as it is)? Would they have any power anymore or would they have to bow to the power of the NAU Supreme Court? So, we would end up being ruled by foreign powers. That's just one of the consequences.

So, we would end up being ruled by foreign powers.Best reason to dislike the concept, IMO.

also, this consolidation of countries (NAU, the new South American Union, mediteranian union, etc) is setting up the one world govt of the antichrist, why would we want our country to take part in that and be subject to it while we Christians are still here? I will go kicking and screaming to prison before I let our sovereignty go to some wacko's in the international courts etc...they don't share God's values not one bit and I don't want my family or me under their corrupt dillusional ideas which fly in the face of our Lord and God....unh uh, no way!!

Exactly, knowing that this is getting us closer to our trip home is the only thing that keeps me from flying off the handle about the gov't giving our nat'l sovereignty away.

That's what I was thinking, the one world government that is ever growing. But I also have been fighting with myself about the issue that was going on in Texas with all the children taken from the polygamist ranch. On one hand, I want them to find out if they've been abused, and ofcourse take them away and placed in a safe home, but now really think...if they get all involved in their religion of sorts, what will stop them from forcing all religions or faiths rather to be under their law before our own. Do you understand what I'm saying? How far will it go?

I agree. It seems to me that some Christians, if not most, don't want the US to have freedom of religion- they want the US to be run on Christian principles. That's not a bad thing, but you can't have it both ways. You can't say, "I love the USA because we have rights and freedom to practice our religion!" but then get mad when other religious groups are allowed to practice. Religious freedom means if we have rights, so do other groups. Likewise, if they start taking other groups rights, why not take ours too? It has to work both ways. I guess that's why a lot of stuff doesn't bother me so much. I just look at it as something I have to accept if I want my religious freedom too.
