Colorado Legislation 'Tramples Religious Freedoms'

by Jennifer Mesko, managing editor

All 'public accommodations,' including restrooms, would be opened to men, women, bisexuals, transsexuals and transgendered individuals.

The next time you visit Colorado, you may run into members of the opposite sex when you use a public restroom.

Under a bill sitting on Gov. Bill Ritter's desk, all "public accommodations" must be open to men, women, bisexuals, transsexuals and "transgendered" individuals.

Senate Bill 200 adds religion and sexual orientation to state nondiscrimination statutes. Supporters claim the bill will prevent discrimination; in reality, the bill endangers religious freedom by opening the door for the state to punish any person or organization — including small and home-based businesses — that refuses, for religious or other moral reasons, to offer or sell goods or services to homosexuals, bisexuals, 'transgendered' and transsexual individuals.

Here's the catch...On the radio they said that anyone PROTESTING such shall be subject to one years JAIL TIME. This verse came to mind. Marrk 13: verse 11 onward. I have read this since I was a child and now wondering am I seeing this come to fruition?

Here in Japan there are uni-sex restrooms in a lot of public places and its really no big deal, you really don't even think about it. I've walked in to one just as an elderly woman was walking out. When you gotta go, you gotta go.

Where it's an individual, clean, well-lit room with a lockable door, I don't think people would see it as much of an issue. The trouble is that it sounds like this law would make restrooms with multiple stalls (and urinals, too, I guess) available for everyone. I don't know how men feel about using a public restroom, but as a woman, I know I tend to feel vulnerable in a public restroom as it is. I know I wouldn't feel comfortable in a multi-stall restroom knowing that a man could walk in and use the stall next to me.

I like it when places have those family restrooms with a lock on the door- enough room for one of us to help kiddo go to the bathroom and one of us to change a diaper!

It's "no big deal" to us because we've become used to this World's system. To not recognize distinctions is a dangerous thing...it sneaks up on us.

I am completely against this notion and the real reason being that the implications of the law are far more sinister than initially percieved.

Take a look at the headlines today alone. With Disney's Gay Day on the 7th of June...NY recognizing CA's "unions" which are looking towards a June 17th start...gay/lesbian jokes on every talk show...our leaders "schmoozing" with such unbiblical conversation.

Yikes!!

Our young teens could be assaulted by rapists if they go into these unisex restrooms in public places. It is a big deal.
