Written by my father in a jail cell back in 1993. (when I was about 13...I am now 26) It was in jail where he was re-born again and he also had similar inspirations and wrote others...but this is my favorite...Prepare for some water works!

From The Mouths Of Babes

There once was a child
with fever in bed.
“It’s just a matter of time”,
the doctor had said.

Her parents were healthy,
even wealthy and wise
but they could do nothing
for the death in her eyes.

They laid down their daughter
to sleep one more night
and shortly ‘fore morning,
her spirit took flight.

She came to a place
where streets were of gold.
A place full of beauty
and riches untold.

She gazed upon Heaven
with love and great care.
She looked for her parents
but neither was there.

She called for her Mommy,
while tears she did shed,
When a man approached her,
a crown on His head.

He picked up the girl
with a smile on his face.
He told her He loved her,
that this was His place.

She looked upon Him
and into His eyes.
She felt so much love
that it ended her cries.

“You must be a doctor
because you made me so glad.
Now tell me, dear sir,
where are my Mom and my Dad?”

Jesus looked at this girl
like He was her father.
He’d given His life so they’d come
but neither would bother.

“My name is Jesus,”
He spoke with a tear.
Your Mom and Dad know My name
but they cannot come here.”

“They know who I am
and where you are, all right,
but they never have asked Me
to bless them in My sight.”

The little girl asked,
“But what can they do,
so we can all be together
and live here with You?”

“They should live in a way
that the Bible teaches to,
give their lives over to me
for their sake and yours too.”

“But if that’s how to come here,
and I believe what you say,
then let me go tell them.
I can show them the way!”

The Lord looked at her face,
and seeing her smile,
said “I will send you back home
and see you again in a while.”

With a look of great power
and eyes burning red,
Jesus just thought it
and she was back in her bed.

The girl sat up.
Her illness was gone,
and all around her,
a bright light had shone.

She called for her parents
and told them the story
of how she met Jesus
in all of His glory.

Seeing her healed,
her parents believed
and for the years they had wasted,
they cried and they grieved.

Witnessing the miracle,
they dropped to their knees.
They prayed to the Lord,
“Jesus save us, oh please!”

The Spirit of God
has now entered their souls
and from that day, forth,
they lived by a new set of goals.

The girl spoke out,
with all present in her room,
“Thank you, Lord Jesus,
we will be seeing you soon!”

Beautiful, simply beautiful. What a gift from the Lord to write such beautiful poetry. It's so awesome how God can take a life, turn it around and use that person for His glory. I praise God that your dad made Jesus his Lord and Savior. (grabbing another handful of tissues)
