Does anyone know of a way when your hard boiling eggs to know when they are done? I know I read of a way long time ago but of course I didn't write it down thinking I would remember it and I forgot :lol2

i put them in a pan of warm water, let them sit a few minutes so they don't explode when boiling... add salt and then crank the heat. when it gets to a heavy boil i shut it off and time it for 10-15 minutes, covered, then hit them with cold water and peel when cool enough to handle.

I let them sit in a pan of water for at least half an hour to acclimate them (with the water level about an inch over the eggs). Then bring it all to a good boil and then turn heat down to a slow simmer and set timer for 15 minutes. You don't need to cover it. Then I usually run them under cold water and put them right in the fridge unpeeled. I do that every Sunday night because I have one halved warmed up egg on Monday thru Wednesday morning each week. They always peel perfectly.

It makes the water boil faster.

I boil mine in 2 tablespoon of vinegar and the rest water. It makes the shell come off easier.
