View Full Version : Hypothetical - who would you vote for?

Just curious - if these were the candidates (and I'm sure they WON'T be :lol2) who would you support for President? I'm curious since each one is seen as something of a defector to his party in certain ways. (Well, Lieberman DID "defect", but McCain is often seen as a "liberal" by many Republicans)
Note the options also ask you to indicate your political leaning - if you vote mostly Republican or Democratic(even if not 100%) please indicate it with the appropriate selection; the "moderate" options are for those who truly mix it up about 50/50 between Rep. and Dem. This part is just so we get a better picture of how these guys are seen by the different groups... :)

Hi Johnny,:wave
I lean Republican and chose McCain, but it was a hard choice for me because I really like Lieberman too. Even before he defected. :lol2

Both of them are for the Immigration Bill, the death-nail of America. Lieberman is pro-choice, so I guess I would vote for John...the lesser of two evils. Especially since John experienced first hand what torture does to people. Sadly, they both are proponents for a war with Iran.

I do not see the "other, place name here" selection.

True. That's why in my first post I stated "if these were the candidates", meaning if these were the two you had to choose from. That's also why I put "hypothetical" as my first word in the title.
I'm just trying to explore the various opinions about these two particular men in relation to each other. I'm well aware that there are many candidates I could add to the selection which would change things, but then that doesn't tell me which of these two candidates anyone prefers, even if it is a "lesser of two evils" scenario for them. Again, as I stated in my first post, these are two men whose parties think of them as "traitors" or somehow disloyal to their parties' ideals, so I'm curious as to how people of each party or political affiliation react to them.
So far, it's mostly what I'd expect. As someone who votes mostly Democrat, I would choose McCain out of these two. Looking at the poll so far, it seems that most people who normally vote Republican would choose Lieberman over McCain. I kind of expected this, but wanted to make sure by asking peoples' opinions to affirm or disaffirm my presumptions. So far the information I'm getting affirms what I thought.
If you want to offer up who you'd write in if these were the only two choices on the ballot, feel free to do so! :)
