View Full Version : Were there two Herod's during Jesus' time on Earth?

In Matthew, Jesus returned from Egypt after Herod died.

In Luke, Jesus was placed in front of Herod and Pilate.

I'm a bit confused here and this is weighing heavily on me.

Herod the Great was the one who ruled when Jesus was born. His son, Herod Antipas, ruled after him and beheaded John the Baptist.
