So I woke up in the middle of the night and a rerun of Neil Cavuto was on FOX and they were talking about the proposed Cap and Trade policy, which all 3 candiates support.
He was saying $4 will look like a bargain as our prices could easily double.
Charles Payne, an expert was battling it out with the other panel guests and he and Neil were outnumbered.
I don't get it! I was laying here in disbelief hearing these Conservationists saying it would be GOOD FOR THE ECONOMY because it would cause people to change their driving habits!!! Um, I thought many of us were already starting to do that.
What in the world was I hearing????
In my opinion, I believe the economy is on the brink of collapsing, many people are really, really hurting already, me included, and then I hear this stuff.
What would the price be for diesel? Think about the truckers and their prices.
My business would essentially be destroyed. I am already a luxury item as a wedding cinematographer. The 9 to 12 months ahead bookings are almost non-existent right now. If they think $10 or $12 gas is going to help us drive less, yeah! And also do in many of us as well.
What in the world are these people thinking??? :doh
How can all these poor Dems that support Obama or Hillary think this will be good for the little guy?
And with McCain, I just don't know what to think. :idunno

I read an article yesterday, about an energy analyst projecting $10-$12/gal. gasoline in the not-too-distant future. He said it is coming, as sure as anything.
I thought as much, as soon as I saw the $12-$18/gal. other countries are paying.
We are in for some radical lifestyle changes, for sure.
I am so thankful to God that I am in the position I am in. No matter how high gasoline gets, it will only mean at most a $20-$40/month increase in costs.
Thank God, thank God, thank God! :)

Well, yeah, maybe in gas costs. But think of the ripple effect.
Food, electric, other staples.
They will all move up in price as well.
My question is, why are we, the congress, the candidates, so in bed with these global warming leftists?
And who cares what Europe is doing? I don't want to be like Europe. I want my country, I don't want to live the European lifestyle with their pricing.

There are many people who will not be able to afford to go to work at those kind of gas prices.
The job I work on, many people travel 30-40-50 miles to get to work. Most of them are paid around 8-10 dollars per hour. I make a little better, at 20/hr, and don't live as far, but if the aides can't get there, I don't know what will happen.
People at the lower end of the payscale are not going to be able to withstand those kinds of gas prices and living in a rural state.

Are these people trying to make this happen? So many times the media, and the experts scare events into occurring, like just beating the idea that we are in a recession into their viewers heads. If you say it enough, people assume it must be true, and this affects their purchasing habits, or in this case future trading.:faint

We are already on a shoestring budget. There is no way we can pay 10.00 for gas. It wouldn't even be worth me working. My whole check would go for gas.

We better darn well hear this question asked in a TownHall Meeting when Obama and McCain are out there dualing it out.
I want to see someone ask them to explain how we are supposed to pay this when they are supposedly feeling our pain yet they ARE FOR THIS!
Anger, anger, anger here.

seriously, that's scary, but it's gone up almost $1 here in the last month. If it goes up $1 a month for the rest of the year that's $10.

Well I pray that we will be Home by then. The gas prices today are already hurting me as I drive so far everyday for work and I do drive a econo car. IN fact I am feeling the pinch of this economy ALOT. I am a single Mom and with only one income things can get tight if and when something unexpected pops up. It is already wearing on me, I grow weary of the constant budgeting daily to!!! I had to have dental work done last week and that means a month of cutting back and cutting corners to get back on budget!!! I have always been pretty careful with our money but now ..... it is crazy! I really can't see any more extras I can cut except my internet !!!! :panic Nooooooo
