Actually, the Quebec independence movement is on life support with an all-time low in support. Their is no referedum pending in the near or distant future. What is happening is that younger Quebecois and the anglophones in the rest of canada are growing detached from the issues that seperated the older generations. Younger Canadians just dont see what the big deal is with Quebec being distinct, etc. We just see seperation as a bad thing because it hurts us. Other provinces such as Alberta and British Columbia have developed a stronger identity as well. Canadian government is more centralized, and it is creating problems because the provinces desire more control over their own economies, etc.
What will not happen is any kind of merger with the States. Even if (and it never would) each province became a nation, they still would not join the American union. Canadians do not like the american government or social system. We are quite attached to our own. The differences between our countries are a little deeper than you might realize.

Disagree... anyone that states it will NEVER happen are in denial of what is going on now. The people of all three countries will NOT get a say in it at all. Get ready to be all one big region. Anyone that thinks it will not happen is not following scripture either about the Ten Regions.

I find it interesting that for the longest time it was "the Libs" and "leftists" who were the problem,
Don't kid yourself - they still are.
I guess it's out of the question for anyone to admit that those of us who were against electing Republicans much earlier on might have been right all along, huh.
Yep, it is.
I think it's funny how the Democrats are also "wrong" when they haven't controlled either Congress or the White House for 6 years - they've only been in control of the House for 6 months now.
Yea, the Democrats "only" control the major news media and the educational institutions of America...like that's not a factor?
Point is, there are millions of us who would rather take out chances on a Republican ANY day...rather than vote for the promotors of abortions and homosexuals, aka, the Democrat party.
Overall, W has been ok, even tho there are some points that I disagree with him on.
I'd be worried if we agreed totally.

Secede, as in pull out of the country.
There are organizations in Vermont and other states that are trying to secede from the US and become independent.
We tried that before... 1860's I think it was... didn't happen. :ohno

I am also very, very disapointed in GWB...I just don't get it anymore. I voted for him twice, but now can barely watch him on the TV~boob tube (that's what my Dad called it~he thought it was a Communist conspiracy :spy)
I pray for him (Pres. Bush) everyday, for his wisdom and that he will understand what a mistake he is making on this illegal immigration deal, and also trying to run the world. Maybe this is just how it's supposed to go in the end of days.:idunno Doesn't make it easier tho. I feel duped and used by many in the Republican Party. I will really no longer consider myself a Republican~Just a Conservative:thumb
I feel exactly the same way. I feel duped!! Used!!!! But, my trust has got to be in the Lord. Just the idea of how thoroughly i was duped even scares me!!!

I agree that if we were all to join into one country, the people would not have any choice. Personally I believe that some global crisis will happen that will cause some people to realize it is in our best interest. I an Canadian here in Toronto. People here are so snobbish and self-righteous with regards to the U.S. Canada is becoming very anti-God and pro gay and humanistic. It's disgusting.
When I slid off the highway in Marquette Michigan in 2002, I was amazed at how many people stopped to help me and my wife. In Canada, most people would drive by. I love the U.S. and wanted to emmigrate 10 years ago. But I discovered pretty quick that being a white, 40 year old, educated, high wage earner type, we were NOT welcome there. We were told as much by the INS. Very sad as my wife and I have a lot to offer and my paternal grandparents were born in the midwest United States.
And then I see how some want to give illegal Mexicans citizenship while some politicians like Lamar Smith are calling Canadians the enemy. I guess we are better off staying here... :hat

For over two decades I have believed that the only reason, anymore, that there is a democratic and republican party is to fool the American people into thinking that they have a choice. Fact is, regardless of which party is in "power" (wait until they discover who truly has power! :) ), the same NWO agenda will go forward. Heads of media are onboard with all this. It is they who always eliminate those that would really change anything (or at least, want to) from the campaigns through misinformation and the result is always two people from one of the two main parties. Imho, people like Limbaugh are possibly "plants" that exist for the purpose of making the general population believe everything is a democratic/republican issue. He condemns "KOOKS" (Keepers Of Odd Knowledge Society - i.e. those that believe that there are some legitimate conspircies in the world) and turns around and constantly points to conspiracies of the dems.
I find it interesting, in this age of easily obtained info, that so many Christians still play the dem vs. rep game. No matter who is in the White House or who controls Congress, abortion stays legal, porn stays legal, phony money stays legal in spite of the Constitution, a flood of illegitimate spending stays legal and unaccountable, public schools stay legal and enforced .... on and on .... illegal immigration is but one item that is making America something other than intended. Perhaps all this is merely judgement on the nation for it's wantonness.

Who is this guy? Your posts have been catching my eye, great to meet you btw and see what you have to say. I've always found it laughable how yeah, people who parrot lines from talk shows throw a :tinhat on everyone for mentioning anything about global collusion behind the scenes, root for the Mets and know the history of babseball, yet swallow stories of shady cabals they heard from a guy who heard from a guy in Philly who heard it from a woman he can't reveal.
