Rick Warren says http://www.pastors.com/RWMT/default.asp?ID=353:
“I’m not trying to impress other Christians. I’m trying to build a bridge to unbelievers so that Jesus can walk across.”

Rick Warren’s drive and purpose is clear: dismantle the Gospel of Jesus Christ and re-define the scriptural boundaries of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the gospel that Warren himself purports to teach, in order to prominently elevate his P.E.A.C.E. Plan for all the world to properly acknowledge. His gospel is based on HIS efforts to help Jesus. Obviously his god and lord is so unprepared and powerless that he has to invent a purpose-driven gospel, sell the product, and then elevate himself as the “co-savior” of mankind - the ONLY person in two thousand years who has finally stepped up to the plate and taken charge, the ONLY person who is willing to use his ill-gotten gains (sales of a New Age book Purpose Driven Life) to promote himself and his merchandizing ways.

Warren isn’t aware that JESUS is the only mediator between God and men (1st Timothy 2:5). He is a blatant heretic, leading people AWAY from Christ and His Word. Christians are to preach the Gospel, not become bridge-builders for Jesus, as if Jesus Christ needs ANYONE’S help in saving people.

And I wonder if maybe he helped Bill Clinton build the "bridge to the 21st Century" in l996?

Instead of wrapping yourself up in these endless high minded sounding metaphors, why not PRESENT THE GOSPEL to unbelievers, assuming you haven't completely lost any awareness of what it even is?

Instead of appearing on all the hip late night shows and "dazzling" the audience with profound sounding comments about God being excited to see each person " do what he's wired to," how about comments about repentence from sin and saving/transforming faith in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice and resurrection?

Probably not cool enough or hip enough for Rick and his "easy believism" church "growth" neo-canonical models!
