I have a question. When any of you go to diet, do you find that after you start, you put on a couple of pounds before actually losing any weight?
I'm hoping yes. :panic

Yes. But also, if you have just started exercising, you need to remember that muscle weighs more than fat. I have only lost 5lbs, but I have lost an inch off my waist b/c my muscles are building/firming up. Muscle also increases your metabolism, so once you build up muscle, you weight will hopefully drop quicker...at least, that's what I'm counting on:thumb

Ok. I do know that muscle weighs more than fat, but I didn't know how fast that can start coming into play since I've only been exercising for a week now. I'm eating healthier, too, but I'm such an impatient person, so when I don't see results right away I think to myself "Oh my, this'll never work..". Then I just give up.
BUT not this time. I have 15 lbs to lose. Just wish I had someone I can work out with to hold me accountable. I would work out and exercise with my husband, but he's been blessed with the "I can eat all I want and never put on weight" thing.

if you are exercising too, and building muscle faster than you are losing fat...its possible... also depends on how close your 'monthly' is....
on my LC plan, i lose about 5-8 # right off, it gets rid of the bloated feeling fast and it if it comes back around the monthly time it is a mere shadow of what it was before :heh

I gained a pound in my first week of exercising.... now after 2 months I gained 5 pounds and lost over 1 inch off my waist and hips, 1/2 inch on each thigh and arm an 3/4 inch off my bust. I have also lost almost a pound of fat. By the way- this is all without dieting...
Don't let the scale fool ya!!

Oh awesome. It's good to hear this. I was thinking I was going crazy. I guess I'll just have to keep tabs on my inches as well. I've never done that, but it looks like it'll show what the scale doesn't.
