how do I get rid of something in my MS paint? I took a screenshot on my pc and saved it in MS paint awhile ago. Today I used the "eraser" in ms paint and erased the whole screenshot and then I clicked exit under file and it asked if i wanted to save the changes and I clicked yes. But I would like know if I can remove the file. Thanks

Instead of double clicking on the file to open it just single click (click once) and then the file will be highlighted. Once it is highlighted just press the delete key on your keyboard. It will then ask you if you are sure you want to send the file to the recycle bin.
However, once the file is in the recycle bin it is not fully deleted. You will have to empty the recycle bin. When you open the recycle bin there should be an option to empty it on the left hand side. If that option is not there then it should be under the file menu.
Hopefully that helped, if not then maybe someone else can explain it better.

I don't need to double click for the file to open. one click and it opens so I can't "highlight" it and delete it :thinking

You should be able to right-click to get a menu with delete as an option.
If you can't get to it, highlight a file in the list and use the arrow keys to highlight the naughty file. Then hit your delete key.

Yeah I always use the right click menu to delete stuff but I figured highlighting might be easier since my Mom has a difficult time learning how to use the right click menu.
When you can't double click to open things that does mean you can't single click to highlight. In that case just leave the mouse cursor over the file for a few seconds and it should highlight.

Well, you need to right click on the file itself then it will bring up a menu with an option to delete.
:thinking
Um, do you know how to delete any other files on your computer? Or are you having trouble deleting this one specific file? If you can't delete this one file when you can delete others then its a whole different problem all together.

ok I got the pics in mspaint deleted. I went into "my documents" and clicked on pictures and then highlighted the ones I wanted to delete and clicked "empty into recycle bin" and then I emptied the recycle bin. Glad I did that, now I just got remember how to do it

I'm happy that you were able to delete the files. I'm glad it wasn't the dreaded "undeletable" file. Those are not so easy to get rid of.
