Went into work at the Bank and had major changes in credit card collections again..... as they try to get as much $$ returned from delinquent card holders as they can.

Our site is doing everything from 60 days late to 150 days late! And we are only doing credit cards from low balance accounts (under 6K usually, average $3000) and mostly students and people new to credit.

This is a BIG change and shows the Bank spinning it's wheels trying to stay afloat and recoup $$.

Just thought I'd let you know. :hide

And don't worry. I am a pretty good and nice collector,,, I will make sure I do my part to keep the bank solvent.

So if I call you, a $50 pmt is fine, just don't tell me no, OK? :thankyou2

Yep, I bet we'll start seeing several banks -- especially those that distribute several types of credit cards -- start to flounder.

Yikes!!!! :(

Let's see.... extended repeated illnesses in immediate family..... sharp decline in work/business...... pay credit card or buy food to survive...... hmmmmm... I may have to tell you no but I'll do it politely. I promise...... And don't worry, conviction by the Lord and shame on my own will do alot more to me than a bill collector can ever do...it already has.....:faint... sometimes, no, I can't is actually a true and honest answer..... especially if you consider that if I dont pay child support, they WILL put me in jail..... yes, I think its safe to say things are not always as they appear........ :ohno

Purchased an item recently and was going to mail a money order to the company (absolutely despise giving card number out over anything anymore). Company said they would only accept US postal money orders---no bank money orders, if you please. When I asked them why no money order from my banking institution they stated that they had been having problems with them and recently decided to switch over to US money orders only. Hmmmmm?

Man, I hear you on that. I can't take explaining anymore that I am being honest when I say I don't have enough for even a $50 payment. Sometimes "no" means "no", you know!

I wonder who is going to pay my bills once the rapture hits...any day now I won't be worrying about creditors!
:thinking
Otherwise, it's off to my other job....MARANATHA!

Don't worry. You'll never even get to talk to me. I let the answering maching take it.

Got behind on my cc payment, which credit card is with my banking institute. Had collector call me and tell me the exact amount of money I had in my checking account (at the time, about $600.00) and snottily inform me that I certainly could make a payment. I patiently explained that the only reason the balance was showing that high was that the checks I had written for utilities and groceries hadn't hit it yet.

But I thought it was a serious invasion that the credit branch was allowed to access my checking information -- At least they haven't just started pulling money out of it without authorization. . . yet.

I bet that will be the next step.

If I were you, I think I'd move my money to another bank.

If they try to sneak a payment out, believe me, it will be the only one they get. I'll move what little money I have out of there, pronto. I'm sorry I'm behind, but I don't need my electric or gas shut off because they want a sixty dollar payment they can't wait another week on.

It's National City, and I keep hearing that they're going under anyways due to the bad morgages. . .

It all depends on the fine print. My wife and I have / had a line of credit with our bank that we've been paying off for years. When we get too far behind they just take a payment directly from our checking account. When i got all hostile they just smiled and said I should have read the fine print.

Part of me snikcers when these banks start having trouble with all those credit cards and stuff, remember it takes two to tango they were supposed to do credit checks and stuff before they started passing those things out like free candy. Granted that it's also up to me to be responsible with that credit, but if they were responsible on there end too they wouldn't be in that mess.

One thing I love when I used to answer crediter calls was how they would have the gall to tell me to go out and borrow money so I could pay them back. After that I quit talking to them unless I had money to pay them right then an there. I acutally had one person suggest to me that I contact the salvation army to get them to help me pay off something. Hmm let me see, pester the salvation army to get money to help me pay some fat cat banker so he can make his jag payment or let them give that money to someone who can use that to buy dinner. That's a tough decision...not.
