If we are speaking about Luke 21:25 The question I have is, does this refer to us or the tribulation Saints? The way I see 21:10 to 21:38 it seems to be the tribulation Saints.:idunno

We will see interesting things during the birth pangs leading up to the rapture, but I personally don't think anything especially spectacular will happen. Nothing that would make unbelievers take notice and wonder whether the signs were supernatural. The real fireworks in the sky is going to be during the trib. Just my 2 cents.

When our Lord Jesus Christ repeatedly told us to watch, there must be something He expected us to be able to watch for (Mark 13:32-37).
Some of the commands to watch may be directed to those saints who are here during the Great Tribulation (perhaps Matthew 24:42 applies to them), but I think the command is also to us as saints of this church age.
I have at hand a list of 38 signs which may indicate, more or less, the nearness of the Rapture. I plan to present these to a home Bible study tomorrow night. I have another list of 16 signs which take place during the Interim, that time after the Rapture until the appearance of Christ in power and great glory (Matthew 24:30) in the public manifestation of Christ at the Second Advent.
There is nothing in our day that remains to be fulfilled before the Rapture occurs, but there are signs which should keep us watching expectantly for His return.

Im on the tip of that but to those who are wise it says... Im not real wise yet but I believe God gives celestial heads up for some things to come. the main thing is it really can happen anytime! Which is the good news but unfortunantly... its going to get ugly for us all first

Luke 21:25 25And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
If this is what you are refering to - WE won't be looking for these - the Trib saints will - but it is interesting - what THEY will be looking for?
I think over in Matthew 24:29 this is explained a little further as to what Luke 21:25 is referring to.
29."Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give it's light;the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers the heaven will be shaken. 30. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
Then,if you go over to Revelation, chapter 8&9,and chapters 16,you get a more in-depth understanding of these things,so this verse is referring primarily to the ending of the Tribulation. The unleashing of the Seals and of the Bowl judgements will cause the various signs in the sky and heavens,I believe.

Dear I'mReady (and all),
Not all will agree with the validity of each of these signs. Not all will agree that they are signs that precede the Rapture. I have attempted to supply some Scripture references in support of some of these signs. The list is not original with me: I derived them from a book written in the 1870s by George N. H. Peters, The Theocratic Kingdom, Volume 3, Proposition 174, Observation 3, pages 109-132. Peters discusses most of these signs at length.
1. The world will be in a comparative state of peace and prosperity. Luke 17:26-30. 2 Peter 3:4.
2. Widespread unbelief in the warnings and words of God characteristic of Noah's day will be equally so when Christ returns. Luke 18:8.
3. The rise of scoffers, saying "Where is the promise of His coming?" 2 Peter 3:3, 4.
4. Such denial also points to the sign that much attention will be drawn to the subject of the Lord's Coming, but also that there are or will be a great many books published against the correct view.
5. Unbelief in the Second Coming of Christ will be found not only in the world, but also in the Church, among professing believers. Luke 18:8.
6. The Church shall be under trial. But there will be those who argue the opposite, and teach the ever increasing victory of the church in this age by present means.
7. The Gospel will continue to be proclaimed until it forms "a witness to all nations, and then shall the end come" (Matthew 24:14). This witness is not to convert the nations, but is a testimony to them. Colossians 1:6, 23.
8. The continuing worsening of the condition of the Church, the tares growing more numerous, preponderating over the wheat. The [nominal Church, not genuine saved believers: Peters argues strongly for the Pre-tribulation Rapture throughout his work, though he himself never uses the term "rapture" anywhere in his three volumes] Church must endure the last great tribulation under the Antichrist; if worthy and pure, she would escape it (Luke 21:36). Consider (a) existing divisions; (b) bigotry; (c) intolerance; (d) mere nominal profession; (e) undue elevation of the Sacraments; (f) exaltation of creed above the Bible; (g) substituting tradition for Revelation; (h) yielding up of inspiration and truth to science; (i) faith exchanged for reason; (j) ignoring of vital doctrines and practical truths; (k) the lowering of the Supernatural to a more natural basis; (l) neglect of prayer and worship; (m) feasting [church suppers, etc.] to procure Church and benevolent funds; (n) aping after fashion, extravagance of dress, and exhibition of pride; (o) fashionable music and accommodating preaching; (p) the spirit of covetousness together with the ostentation and parade in giving; (q) ostentatious eulogy of past benevolence; (r) greater attachment and love for measures and reforms outside of the church; (s) the hyping of institutions, men, books, and sermons beyond truth; (t) the non-confessing of Christ during the week; (u) the advance of infidelity among the ministry and laity; (v) sensational preachers; (w) the use of scriptural terms while the reality is denied; (x) the debasement of duty to policy; (y) the direct Romanizing tendencies; (z) fanaticism and sectarianism on the one hand and a broad tolerance on the other; (aa) the coldness, even deadness manifested; (bb) the study of human systems to the neglect of the Bible; (cc) the softening and toning down of God's rebukes; (dd) the lack of family religion; (ee) the straining at a gnat and swallowing of a camel (Matthew 23:34); (ff) the trust in self-righteousness; (gg) the confidence in man's ability and regenerating power of humanity; (hh) seeking after earthly things to the neglect of the spiritual; (ii) the returning evil for evil; (jj) the envy, contention, want of charity, slandering too often manifested; (kk) the intemperance, impatience, murmuring arrogance, flattery, boasting, etc., exhibited; (ll) the form of godliness, but denying the power (2 Timothy 3:5); (mm) the merely sentimental, poetical, philosophical, scientific preaching; (nn) the spirit so prevalent to entertain or amuse the people by the introduction of novelties;--in brief, through the whole category of things forbidden by the Word. While many profess, the real followers of Christ are "few." Matthew 7:14.
9. Continued predictions of the ever growing prosperity of the Church despite the prevalence of nominal Christianity and mere formalism.
10. The fearful apostasy witnessed within the Church. 2 Timothy 4:3, 4. 2 Thessalonians 2.
11. The continued conversion of some.
12. The present recovering strength of the Papacy.
13. Confidence in the flesh, and schemes for the regeneration of society through the development of Humanity indicating confidence in the ability of man to lift himself. Socialism, communism, humanism, rationalism, politics, rights, liberty, change, and reform.
14. The leaven of toleration leading to a practical unbelief of the Word inducing a spirit of worldliness. An emphasis upon making life all, and doctrine nothing.
15. The earnest desire for union upon a truly scriptural basis.
16. The existence of widespread corruption: crime, arson, robbery, adultery, fornication, rape, prostitution, divorce, free loveism, swindling, fraud, strikes, profanity, drunkenness, violence, murder, assassinations, all signs of approaching judgments.
17. Spiritualism, seducing spirits, doctrines of demons, the occult. 1 Timothy 4:1-4.
18. Perilous times shall come as detailed in 2 Timothy 3:1-9.
19. The continuing unbelief of the Jewish nation down to the Advent. Zechariah 14.
20. The restoration of a portion of the Jews to Jerusalem before or when the last great Antichrist (who attacks them) arises. If we are really nearing the end, a special interest should be taken by the Jews in the Holy Land with a view toward its ultimate recovery.
21. The weakening of the Turkish or Ottoman power which holds the Holy Land should be witnessed to make it easy for the Jews to regain their land [Remember, Peters wrote this about 1873!]
22. Our position chronologically may be revealed by where we are in terms of Daniel's image.
23. Signs in the political horizon reflecting that the nations will be confederated against Christ .
24. The vast activity of the press in behalf of evil.
25. The astonishing increase of knowledge (Daniel 12:4), both of prophecy and of knowledge in general.
26. Natural disasters, hurricanes, earthquakes, pestilences, wars, famines, floods, hailstorms, cyclones, meteors, plagues, which continue, perhaps intensify.
27. The emphasis upon "peace and safety."
28. The wealth of the church.
29. The almost universal desire to become rich, the methods resorted to in order to increase wealth, gigantic monopolies, the hoarding of riches, the aggressiveness of capitalists (James 5:1-3).
30. Prophecy conferences emphasizing the nearness of the Second Advent and the reign of the Messiah and His saints (Malachi 3:16).
31. A widespread interest in Jesus as a person from a Rationalistic and anti-supernaturalistic viewpoint.
32. The remarkable prominence given to the Scriptures, which are widely circulated, together with numerous aids to its study and comprehension, varied versions and translations, brings the Word of God before the people with such startling conspicuousness, that God justifies Himself in first warning before bringing upon the nations the terrible threatened judgments. "The nearer we are to the end, the more prominent should be this interest in the Scriptures."
33. The exceeding bitterness of unbelief, suggesting persecution may lie ahead, the spirit of intense hostility manifests itself in a desire to crush Christianity by persecution.
34. The turning away from the true Messiah, Jesus the Christ, and invoking another [I]Coming Messiah representative of the coming of Antichrist.
35. The raising up of false Messiahs, persons actually claiming to be the Messiah.
36. The moral and religious condition of our great cities, which are noted for wickedness of all kinds, for irreligion and impiety, for all the evils that curse depraved humanity.
37. The great stress laid on secular education as a means of improvement and progress; its extensive usage under State patronage to elevate the ignorant, insure refinement, and secure the welfare of its recipients to stem vice, immorality, and crime compared to the actual fruitage it brings. It is becoming more and more separated from the religious and moral teaching. While thousands of educators are religious, moral, or sincere in advancing the highest interests of pupils, thousands are irreligious, immoral, or bitter in covert and open hostility to the Bible and Christianity.
38. Additional signs include: (1) the mixing of the clay and iron, Daniel 2:43, symbolic of the union of constitutional governments with a popular element; (2) extraordinary answers to prayer and faith, as George Muller; (3) the treatment of prophecy by unbelief with scorn and neglect; (4) renewed attention paid by scholars to the connections between the Old and New Testaments; (5) a clear and distinctive idea of the original and true conception of the Messianic Kingdom, particularly E. R. Craven in Lange's Commentary on Revelation; (6) Pre-Millinarians are recognizing the foundations of their faith in the two everlasting covenants, the Abrahamic and Davidic; (7) increasing interest in the theology of the New Testament recalling the Church to the Primitive belief; (8) increasing number of works devoted to a study of the Roman Empire; (9) The continuing observance of the Lord's Table (1 Corinthians 11:26); (10) the great riches heaped together for the last days (James 5:3).

Thanks for sharing that - It is really amazing that for an 1870's view it is almost spot on. I was impressed with points 19 and 20 - just shows that the Bible is ageless -Eternal - and the Word of sure Prophecy!
