Jack Van Impe is one of those peddling this pagan stuff.......
I don't understand that? I have stoped watching him. He is saying "The history channel had on their program." Then he goes on and into this Calendar and 2012. Then he does his math about what years this is going to happen because of the date of 67 and 2012.
The date has alot of pagan newage worldviews with it. Alot of planet x stuff associated with it. I guess the center of the galaxy is supposed to cross the galactic plane something like that bringing about a newage of man's awarness? It is alot of garbage. I thought it had some legitimate science associated with it so I read on the topic for about a month and I think it is going to cause alot of people to get swept up in newage astrology. My $.02 it has no business a part of a blood bought christians daily dose of prayer, study and meditation. We do not know the day and hour only the season and the season is now. we are to be ready at all days and times not just 2012.

The Bible code is also heavily into aliens...God is just an alien from within the universe etc....stick with the Bible, everything God wants us to know is in the Bible! :thumb
:shockedWell, it was promoted on Oprah, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised at its occult bent.

my thoughts exactly. These are ideas that have been upheld for far too long to 'just dismiss'. We don't know what started this mayan thing, but sure makes sense that it 'could possibly' have something to do with the fallen angels. These ancient wall paintings sure are fascinating and it's not impossible they could have some meaning, is it?(just asking, not trying to be sarcastic:idunno) I only am interested because I have done some reading years ago on these cultures, finding it kinda interesting that here they are, back in our faces so regularly, I think there is some reason for this, and the science of the polar shift thing. Inquiring minds just want to know.(and sorry, just have one of those inquiring minds:scratch)

That is correct, there could possibly be a poalr shift in 2012. The reason scientist believe this is because the Earth, Sun, and the center of the Milky Way ( our universe's black hole) will all be aligned on December 21, 2012. What that means is that the magnetic pull from the sun to the earth will be disrupted for a short period of time and the poles could in affect, roll over.
The Mayans did not believe that 2012 was the end of the world but that it was the beginning of a new age. They for saw "birth pains," ahead. They said that the birth of a new age would come with the shedding of much blood. I have read some of the prophecies of the pagan shamans and they believe that there will be a new spiritual consciousness in the earth.
It is my belief that the ancient Mayans were taught the science of astronomy by fallen angels. There are discriptions and hyrogliphics of super natural beings teaching them on the walls of their temples.
What you're quoting is NOT science, but psudo-science straight out of the planet X sites play books. Please do not confuse their theories as anything remotely resembling fact.

"If" fallen angels gave all of this wonderful knowledge to the pagans of old, then that would mean they know when this age is over and the new one begins or is in full swing....something scripture says ONLY GOD KNOWS.......

Only if you believe what they say is true...
But, don't forget, they are not ignorant of such things. They witnessed the creation of the world and obviously have knowledge of the things coming to pass. They don't know the day or hour either, but they know the times and seasons just as well, if not better, than we.
Remember, logic and common sense would dictate they would not have known it wasn't their "appointed" time if they didn't know that they were not in it. (Matthew 8:29 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew%208:29&version=31))
Of course they have knowledge of the end of the age and what is coming upon the Earth. That doesn't mean they can predict it, set a date on it or usurp the power of the Word with any authority. But, to think they don't know the signs and times or have any foreknowledge is wrong. Doesn't mean they'll be truthful about it, obviously. But, I'm sure that with the heavenly knowledge they have, they could see the expected alignments coming with some degree of accuracy and use this knowledge to deceive many.
Just my opinion...

demons aren't omniscient nor omnipresent...that would require them to know thousands and thousands of years ago to pick 2012 as being the new age....they knew when it was happening it wasn't their time (regarding Matthew 8) but they wouldn't know thousands of years in advance when the time might be....we could have been at the end of the millennium by then or even in eternity in 2012 for all they knew. They might know the season now (as any observer should) but you are giving them powers I don't think they have...they don't know the beginning and the end...I can see the repeated UFO mumbo jumbo as satan thinking it could be any day now (which he was wrong about - and he also knew scripture forwards and backwards yet didn't know from OT scripture that Jesus was to die on the cross for our sins...he's not THAT bright) and that's why there have been UFO sightings for hundreds of years.....also satan wouldn't need his choice of evil doer to be ready at any moment in history......he'd just wait until now or next year....:idunno (did I relay my thoughts on this like I'd hoped????)

I'm not giving them any powers - my point was that they could see, through simple mathematical calculations (much like NASA sees thousands of years into the future and can predict eclipses and such) and with extra-dimensional intelligence and knowledge of the workings of the universe, that this great astronomical event was to take place at this particular date and could've placed an emphasis on it with ancient peoples. These peoples could have been shown, through the traversing of the stars in the sky and through advanced mathematics, that this event would happen in 2012. They could then be given deceptive stories, theories and predictions, and be lead to write down (knowing that they would be scrutinized in the future) a deceptive prophecy.
You and I will just have to agree to disagree on the intelligence and conniving abilities of these beings. I, for one, do not underestimate their knowledge and intelligences. I think Satan knew all about Jesus' first coming, but completely misunderstood the simplicity of the plan of salvation. We can look back on it with 20/20, but who could've honestly been able to understand His plan before it happened? It's too remarkable, too simple, too full of grace to have been understood even by Satan. Even the angels look upon it in wonder. He may have miscalculated and misunderstood it, but I wouldn't even think of attributing that to stupidity. The absolute worst thing any warrior (and we are at war) can do is underestimate your opponent. I believe Satan to be infinitely brighter than you're giving him credit for...again, imho.
They could've easily known that we wouldn't be in eternity in 2012 if they understood theories such as the thousand-years-as-a-day, "after two days He will raise us up", etc. Maybe they do know the approximate times, etc. No one knows the "day or hour", but who says they or we can't know the times, seasons and years. I think they know much more than they are given credit for. They wouldn't have been able to do the damage they've done if they were stupid. JMHO.
Many blessings...
