So What Does Scripture Say?

Rick Warren and Bill Hybels believe it is acceptable to dine and dialogue with professing “Christians* who are in sexual revolt against God’s Word. These men are called “loving” because they are going to do such a thing. But what does God’s Word say about this?

But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.
For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.

–I Corinthians 5:11-13

So on what basis is it OK to eat with a “Christian” gay group whose express purpose for being at Saddleback, by their own words, is to change the way Christians view sodomy? How is that loving? Does God’s Word mean anything at all?

*One of the sponsoring groups of Soul Force’s tour is The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC).

They describe themselves as “an international fellowship of Christian churches with a special ministry to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.” It is America’s only homosexual denomination from its inception.
