I'm hearing plenty that indicates a major hit to the economy if Obama is elected. What do ya think?

If he is elected, he will be president, right? If he is president, he will increase government spending along with congress. Increased government spending is funded by increasing taxes or borrowing or both. That/Those method/s of that funding will hurt the economy. The economy we have is man-made. Nothing man-made can last; only that which God has created can be eternal.

He's probably going to have 2 years of runaway passage of liberal bills.
Then, hopefully, Conservatives will regroup after they get their clocks cleaned in all the races, will wake up, regroup, and go after the Libs in the midterm, or 2010, and retake the Senate and work on taking back the House.

I do not like Obama.
However, I believe that the world's initial pleasure (liberal world leaders who like him) at his election in November will probably cause a temporary boost to the strength of the dollar and slight temporary boost to the economy. Not a real boost, but more of a perception. But once the democratic controlled Congress and Presidency start enforcing new policies I believe we'll be in a bigger mess than we are now.

Good points! I agree with you! :thumb

I think Obama will bring a false peace and security to America. Noooo.... I'm not saying he's the antichrist.:rolleyes But he will act as a savior for America to prove his "time for change" message (funny how he never says though HOW he plans on changing things :twitch).
I think possibly things may SEEM as if this guy is the greatest answer to America's problems. And to THE WORLD, things may seem to be truly improving. But to those with spiritual eyes to see, we'll know exactly what's around the corner and what those changes will lead THIS WORLD into; the NWO! JMHO
Brace yourself for the most disgusting and vexing years ahead.:armor :bible :pray

The mess we're in now is reversible. But the window for changing things (not Obama's change) may close.
I'm beginning to believe that a depression is possible with Obama.
The perfect storm is:
a) We do nothing meaningful about energy. No drilling. And the govt hamstrings business efforts to create solutions. No nuke plants. No refineries.
b) Higher taxes.
c) More govt. More intrusion into our lives and more regulation of businesses.
That could put us in a tailspin.
Obama is out there touting his economic plans. There is nothing that he is proposing that's good for the economy. It's all train wreck material.

I'm on a laptop so I am having a hard time quoting you, Frodo.
I agree with you...I think you misunderstood my original post. I do not believe that anything Obama does will be good for anything. I simply believe that the world leaders and the world (note the word world--as in liberal world) perception upon his election will give a false sense of a (temporary) boost to the economy. I'm talking in November, before he is ever inaugurated.

c) More govt. More intrusion into our lives and more regulation of businesses. Frodo, while I agree 100% about a possible President Obama being a disaster for America ... well, at least for life, policy, economy, business, the military and Upreme court justices (sorry ... can't spell that right since only God is Supreme), points 'a' and 'c' are already true and have been for a long time. I would even include 'b' but with more explanation ... Mr. Bush has succeeded in lowering federal income tax but then state and local taxes just go up to compensate for less money flowing down from the Hill. So we still pay about the same in taxes. That doesn't take away from what Mr. Bush did, but for me it's a "stay the same" scenerio. I'm sure that adjusts one way or the other depending on income.

I hope Obama is not at the helm as we face an economic nightmare. That man would seize the opportunity to take control over every aspect of our lives he can manage. His "shared prosperity" scares the living daylights out of me--and I'm one of the little people. In hard times, Americans would fall for it hook, line, and sinker without ever realizing what they did. Global socialism, NWO...no thank you.
