Anyone noticed that in the last month to six weeks the frequncy of reports about Iran's imminent threat and the need for a response from America and Israel is intensifying - in much the same way that things were spun pre-Iraq war?
It seems to me that the stage is being set once again and the publics in Israel, America and Britain are once again being convinced and prepared for an attack.
Is this me or does anyone else think this is going to kick off soon with Iran??

Hmmm....
GW is in Europe...
Laura is in Afghanistan...
A meeting was recently held with our owners (OPEC)...
People are getting restless and irritated about gas prices...
Timing, they say, is everything.

It very well could be the scenario being set up, although I don't see how Americans could be sent to anywhere else without the draft being reinstated....:scratch Not something I would want to see happen.:faint
I see the whole ME as a powderkeg waiting to go off and that doesn't even include the India/Pakistan problems. I just spoke to someone just back from India and they said that India has a cold war type of thing going on with China also.:tsk That whole area of the world is a war waiting to happen and then throw in the Muslim extremists throughout the Philippines, Singapore and other island nations there....:nuke:hide
With the failing dollar, gas and food prices rising t/o the world, famine, etc. seeing the red horse of war starting out in Iran would not be surprising too. The hoofbeats of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse are very loud indeed!:preach

Matt:hatI didn't hear anything from Iran threatening Britain, or Britain being involved in any confrontation with Iran.
In fact, we have a report over here where it states that anti-Israel sentiment is very much on the rise over there.:idunno

Seems that way. Sometimes when I'm reading the news I get bursts of adrenaline because things feel so different now than ever before. That having said, I know we can rely on just feelings. But everything seems in line.

I can't help but wonder if a lot of this talk has to do with Obama trying to sound tough. Everyday he talks about this very issue, and of course John McCain has to comment as well.
On the otherhand, President Bush is not the kind of guy to push a threat off on someone else. If the situation presents itself, it would not surprise me if he authorized missile strikes.
As for the draft, that's never going to happen. Draftees, as history shows, do not work. They're more trouble than they're worth. The Dept of Defense has stated time and again it has no desire to resort to such a measure.
Furthermore, could you imagine our judicial system being flooded with law suits from draftees as a result of a draft....having their rights violated in such a manner? The ACLU would have a field day.

HisAlways,

Two things, Firstly, It's kind of accepted over here that whatever course of action America chooses, Britain will follow. And quite rightly really as you are our closest friends.
And secondly, about Britain becoming a place increasingly intollerant too Israel - I kind of agree with you unfortunately. Political correctness has gone too far over here and it's cool to support the Palestinians and really not cool to back Israel. This is one of the signs of the times generally though, that people are starting to turn against Israel, the "apple of God's eye". This is because people don't recognise that their way of thinking is not God's way of thinking.
The pendulum has swung too far over in this country and I don't think it will long before Bible believing Christians are going to start being prosecuted for their views if they express them formally in public.
