i've only got a few chapters of 2 Kings left and i was wondering which book of the OT should i read next? :thinking i've read Genesis, Exodus, most of Numbers, Job, half of Psalms, Daniel, 1 Kings...

is there any Book in the OT that i should go too next? i chose to read Kings cause Elijah was in there and i wanted to know who the guy was. i remember watching 'King Of Kings' and someone asking Robert Ryan who played John the Baptist "are you Elijah?" and i'd always wondered 'who is he?' :scratch

If you want to continue in historical order, you could read Ezra & Nehemiah. If you want to read the same material from a sometimes different perspective, read Chronicles. If you'd like to read the writings of some of the prophets you've met in Kings, go for Isaiah...

What's really educational is when you read the sections of Isaiah that have to do with the Kings period, go back and read the relevant historical material to get a context.
